English translation
Krishna's visit to Chandravatipuri with the Yadavas to grant the kingdom to Shakuni's son and an introduction to previous births of Shakuni etc.
Naradji says - Rajan! The remaining demons fled from the battlefield. Yadavendra accompanied his sons and other Yadavas from the army to Chandravatipuri, adorned with conch shells, wheels, maces, lotuses, and sharngadhanus, accompanied by the gods, playing the Srihari Veena, Venu, Mridanga, and Dundubhi. There, Queen Madalsa wept bitterly as she mourned the loss of Shakuni's son due to the loss of her husband. Tears were streaming down her face and she was very low. She immediately put her child at the feet of Lord Krishna with folded hands and saluted the Lord. 1 - 5.
Madalsa said, "O Lord! Adidev! You have descended into the abyss to unload the weight of the earth. You are the creator of the world, and when the time of the Holocaust comes, you will destroy it; but you never indulge in virtues. I bow at your feet to gain your favor. My son is very scared You have to protect it. Oh God! Place your right hand on its head. Devesh. Jagannivas! Forgive me for the sins that my husband has done to you. 6 - 7.
Naradji says - Rajan! Upon hearing this, Lord Krishna placed both his hands on the boy's head and gave him the entire kingdom of Chandravati. He then granted Vairagya knowledge and his devotion by giving a long life span up to Kalpaka. The Shakunikumara was then given a beautiful garland around his neck by Lord Krishna. Sri Janardana diligently returned to Devendra all the high-altitude horses, chintamani gems, kamadhenu, and kalpa trees that Shakuni had taken from Indra in the first battle, for the Lord Himself is the sustainer of cows, Brahmins, deities, sadhus, and the Vedas. 8-11 |
Bahulashva asked - "Devarshe! Who were these giants like Mahabali Shakuni in the past and how did they achieve salvation? This is causing me a lot of anxiety. 12.
Naradji says - Rajan! According to the earlier Brahmakalpa, Paravasu was the king of Kalabhra. She bore him nine beautiful sons and a daughter. They were all as beautiful as Kamadeva, adorned with divine jewels and proficient in songs and instruments, and sang daily in the Brahmaloka. Their names were Mandar, Mandar, Mand, Mandhas, Mahavala, Sudeva, Sughana, Soudha, and Sribhanu. Once upon a time, Brahma looked at his daughter, the goddess Saraswati, with fascination. The other's sons laughed heartily at Vidhata's behavior. He had to go to Tamasi Yoni because he had committed a crime against Surashrestha Brahma. When Svetavarahakalpa arrived, he was born to Hiranyaksha, the wife of the new Gandharva. Their names at that time were Shakuni, Shambar, Hrishta, Bhoot-Santapan, Vrik, Kalanabha, Mahanabha, Harishmashru, and Utkacha. One day, after paying obeisance to the sage Apantartama who had come to his house and worshipped him properly, he respectfully asked for the same. 13-19 | (Vishwajitkhand Chapter 41 to 45)
The demon said, "Brahman! Listen. You say with your mouth that the Lord of Kaivalya is directly Lord Srihari, He grants salvation to the devotees of the Bhaktavatsal Bhagavan; but we are always ready and evil in the company of demons and yonis, we have never worshipped the Lord. So how will we have salvation in this life? O Brahman! Tell us the means to the ultimate well-being; for Lord! You wander the world only for the welfare of the poor. 20-22 |
They said, "O sons of demons! The qualities do not stay separate, they are all mixed. Or those whose qualities are not separate from it. Therefore, the demons who have been worshipping the transcendent Mokshadhishvara Paramatma Sriharika through the same qualities have attained to that Paramātmā. The demons became absorbed in him by constantly applying these emotions or qualities - unity, harmony, affection, fear, anger, and smaya (pride) - to Krishna. For example, the Prajapatis became liberated because they believed in a union (a clan, clan, or gotra) with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. By establishing harmony with God, Kayadhuputra Prahlada attained Godhead. Sutapa Muni with affection for Sriharika, Hiranyakashipu with fear, your father Hiranyaksha with anger, and Srutis with smaya (pride) acquired extremely rare titles for yogis as well. Apply your mind to Shri Krishna in any way possible. It is through bhakti yoga that these deities attain their abode by paying obeisance to God. 23-27 |
Naradji says - Rajan! Having said this, the sage Apantartama disappeared. From then on, Shakuni Adi established enmity with the Supreme Being, Srihari. It was through enmity that they found the Supreme Being, Krishna. Rajendra! Don't be surprised at this. Just as the worm becomes imbued with the thought of illusion, so the soul contemplating God attains the likeness of God. 28-29 |
