The fierce battle of the daityas and the yadavas; the miraculous prowess of Balval, Kunandan and Aniruddha

Srigarji says - Rajan! Balwal then, with great joy, mounted his son on a chariot and with it, with his army, hurriedly set out for battle. All of his soldiers were armed with a variety of weapons. They sat on a variety of vehicles and looked fierce in a variety of forms, armed with various physical armor. He was as mighty as a lion and as strong-bodied as a Gajaraja. They went before the Yadavas of Vrishnivanshi, shaking the earth. Aniruddha was appalled to see so many demons coming and composed the Chakravyuha to protect all the Yadavas. From all sides, the brave Yadavas, armed with all kinds of weapons, stood tall with elephants, horses, and chariots, enjoying the grandeur. The king! In the middle of them stood kings like Indranil. Among them stood good heroes like Akrur and Kritavarma. Rajendra. Among them were the brothers of Krishna, Gada and Adi. In the middle of them stood great heroes like Samba and Deeptiman. 1-7 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 31 to 35)

Prithvi Nath! Thus, Pradyumrakumar Aniruddha stood in the middle of the Chakravyuha, holding a shield. O Lord! There was a fierce battle of the demons with the Yadavas on the seashore, as if many other seas were struggling with many seas. In that battlefield, charioteers fought with chariots, elephant-riders fought with elephants, cavalry fought with horsemen, and infantry fought with foot-soldiers. The king! The Yadava-Viras began slaying Balwale's soldiers with sharp arrows, shields, swords, maces, staffs, rods, lathis, chhatris, and bhushundis. Terrified of being beaten up, they all fled their respective battlefields. Much dust fell from the soldiers' feet, covering the sky and the sun. Darkness fell on all sides, and in the darkness, all the giants began to flee the battle with their backs to the battlefield. Wounded by the Yadava's pranks, many of the Asuras fell into wells, many fell into pits and many drowned in ponds and stepwells. Balwal was filled with fury at the sight of a stampede in his army and came with four ministers and his son to confront the Yadavas. In that great battle, Aniruddha fought with Balavala, Brihadvahu with Durgetra, Aruna the mighty with Durmukha, Nyagrodha with Dushbhagya, Kavi with Durmuda, and Sunandana, the son of Krishna, fought with Kunandan. 8-17 |

Rajendra! Thus ensued a war that stunned even the gods there. All the days of the month of Kartik were spent there in battle. The king! Repeatedly bows and arrows, Balwale angrily shot three arrows at Indranil and six at Hemangad in the battlefield. The demon wounded Anushalvaka ten, Akruraka ten, Gadaka twelve, Yuyudhana five, Kritavarma five, Uddhava ten, and Pradyumna a hundred arrows in the battlefield. Hit by his arrows, all the heroes, including the chariots, circled for two hours. Their horses died in the battle and the chariots were torn to pieces. Honorable King! All the Yadavas, including Aniruddha, were amazed at the agility of his hands. Then they all mounted on other chariots. 18-23 |

The king! At the same time, Balwal also went to see other heroes. Then Aniruddha, with red eyes in anger, said, 'O demon! Stand up in front of me, stand up. Where will you go after showing valor? Look at my sharp arrows as well. Hearing Aniruddha's words, the daitya, Yuvaraja Kunandan, looked at Balvalke and quickly spoke up. 24-26 |

The prince said, "Pradyumranandan." You do not have the ability to see the demon king in the battlefield. Therefore, first you will see my strength on this battlefield. 27. (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 31 to 35)

Aniruddha said, "Daitya Kumar! You are a child now. It does not have the ability to fight a war. So go to your house and play with artificial toys. 28.

Having said this, Kunandan placed a hundred shayaks on his mighty staff and, showing his strength by them, wounded Aniruddha while he was on the chariot. The arrows struck and he himself, along with the charioteer, horse and chariot, fell into the Kapilashrama while circling through the sky. There was an immediate commotion when Aniruddha left. 30-31 |

Then in the battlefield, the enraged Samba and Adi Yadava came to kill the daitya kumar. The crown prince was overjoyed to see the large number of warriors. The mighty hero wounded Sambako ten, Madhuko five, Brihadvahuko three, Chitrabhanuko five, Vrikko ten, Arunako seven, Samgramajit five, Sumitra three, Deeptimanako three, Bhanuko five, Vedabahuako five, Pushkarako seven, Shrutadevako eight, Sunandanako twenty standing in front, Virupako ten, Chitrabahuako nine, Nyagrodhako ten and Kaviako nine with sharp arrows on the battlefield. At the same time, that mani kunandan blew the victory conch with great joy. Some fell on one yojana, others on five kosparas, and others on two yojanas while making a circuit with chariots and horses with his arrows. 32-39 |

Oh dear Lord! At that time, the Yadava army was in disarray. All the Yadavas started crying, taking the names of Balaram and Shri Krishna. At that time, all the warriors like Gada and the kings like Indranil came full of anger and started raining sharp arrows. When Prince Mahabali saw all the heroes, he tied them up with sickles. They were all wiped out in the battlefield. The king! Balvalkumar then began to kill the Yadava heroes with his arrows. The majority of the warriors received the Panchatva from his stroke. In the land of war, through his arrows, the river of blood appeared, in which the living elephants drowned and died. At that time, the sound of 'Hi-Hi' started echoing in the Yadav-Sena and the sky. The gods Indra and Varuna were also amazed and terrified. Seeing their victory, the faces of all the Asuras were filled with joy. 40-45 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 31 to 35)

Kapil Muni saw Aniruddha lying on his back, says Srigarji. Their chariot has been destroyed and their thorax has been shattered by arrows. Then the benevolent sage touched Aniruddha by hand with his penance and made him conscious. Yadukulatilaka Aniruddha then got up and saluted the Siddha sage, and after giving joy to all the Yadavas, he entered the battlefield by a bridge. 46-48 |

The king! The mighty Aniruddha then mounted another chariot, picked up a bow called 'Pratibhārnga', and angrily shot an arrow at the chariot of the demon-prince. The archer, accompanied by his chariot and horses, circled the sky for four muhurat (eight hours). At that time, all the demons and the heroes of Vrishnivamsa saw firsthand that Kunandan with the chariot was circling in the sky. After that, the heroes like Samba rode on other chariots and came at a fast pace. At the same time, all the archers like Anushalva also arrived immediately. 49-52 |

Thus was completed the thirty-fourth chapter in the Ashvamedha Khanda under the Srigargha Samhita, titled 'Description of the War of the Daityas and the Yadavas'. 34.
