English translation
Damodar Krishna's bondage and his salvation of the Yamalarjuna trees
Srinardji says - Rajan! Once upon a time, Gopangas were singing Gopala's lilas from house to house, churning all over Gokul. In the Shrinanda temple, the beautiful Yashodaji also woke up in the morning and poured curd into a jar and began to mash it. Hearing Mathani's voice, child Sreenandanandan also danced for Navneet, revealing the melodious sound of Manjeer, out of curiosity. Near the mother, child-spirited Lord Krishna was taking great grace by making repeated rounds and dancing, and repeatedly spreading the sweet chime of the ringing tax-payer's doves. They were asking for freshly extracted butter with sweet words. When he was not found by them, they became angry and took a piece of stone and broke the jar of curd made by him. By doing this, they ran away. Yashodaji also ran after his son to catch him. They were one hand ahead of her, but she could not hold them. How could those who are rare even to Yogishwaras come under the grip of Mata. 1 - 6.
The gopis said, "Nandarani! This little child of yours always goes to our houses and breaks utensils, yet we never say anything about it out of pity. Vrajeshwari Yashode! There is not the slightest pain in your heart, you have become merciless. You have threatened this child with a stick and tied him up because of a broken pot! . 12-13 |
Shrinaradji says - Nareshwar! Yashodaji did not say anything when the gopis said this. She became involved in household chores. Meanwhile, on a chance visit, Shrikrishna went to the banks of Shriyamunaji, pulling his oars with his long hair. On the banks of the Yamuna were two old giant trees, which stood connected to each other. They were both part of the Arjuna tree. Lord Krishna, the Damodar, burst out laughing from between the two trees. Okhali had become crooked there, however, Krishna suddenly pulled her away. The two trees uprooted and fell to the ground under pressure from the pull. The explosion caused by falling trees was as powerful as a thunderbolt. Two gods emerged from those trees - just as fire appeared from wood. The two deities circumambulated Damodar, touched his feet with their crowns, and joined hands. They bowed down before the Lord and spoke in this manner. 14 - 18.
The two gods began to say, "Achyuta! Your philosophy has liberated both of us from Brahmadanda at this very moment. Green! May neither of us now disregard your own devotees. You are a treasure trove of compassion. It is in your nature to do good to the world. You are our repeated salutations to 'Damodar', 'Krishna' and 'Govinda' * 19-20 |
Srinardji says - Rajan! Thus, having saluted Sriharika, the two Devakumaras turned to the north. At the same time, all the Gopas, including Nanda, came there, frightened. They began to ask, 'What are you doing? How did these two trees fall down without a storm? Tell it to me quickly. "Then all those Brajvasi boys said. 21-22 |
Srinardji says - Rajan! Hearing this, the old gopas did not believe him. Nandaji untied his child tied with a rope at Okhali and started sniffing at the child by picking up puffed rice. O Lord! Nandaji greatly adored his wife and donated a hundred cows to the Brahmins. 24-25 |
Bahulashva said, "O Lord of the gods! Explain who those two divine beings were. Due to which fault he had to become a Yamalarjuna tree. . 26.
Srinardji says - Rajan! They were the two best sons of Kubera, named Nalakubara and Manigriva. One day they went to Nandanvan and stayed there on the banks of Mandakini. There the apsaras sang of his virtues, and the two Varunis, drunkards, roamed the area in droves. One was his youth and the other was darpita (frenzied) with darpa (substance of wealth). On the same occasion, at some point, Munindra, a Vedantic scholar with the name Deval, arrived. Seeing the two sons of Kubera naked, the sage said to them, 'You are both full of wickedness. You both have lost your sanity. " 27-29 |
Having said this, Devalji again said - You are both as rooted as a tree, as arrogant and shameless as a tree. You have great pride in your substance; therefore both of you be trees on this earth for a hundred (divine) years. At the end of Dwapara, near the Mahavana on the banks of the Kalindanandini Yamuna in the Vraja-Mandal of Mathura district within India, you will both have darshan of the most perfect Damodar, Hari Goloknath Shri Krishna, and you will attain your former self. 30-32 |
Shrinaradji says - Nareshwar! Thus, Krishna of Nalakubar and Manigriva, who received Vrikshabhava from Deval's curse, was saved. 33.
Thus was completed the nineteenth chapter under Golokhanda in the Srigarghasamhita, the Narada Bahulashva-Samvadam, titled 'Ulukhala-Bandhana and Yamalarjuna-Mochana'. 19.
