English translation
The coming of the Kaurava army to the battlefield; the fierce fighting of the soldiers on both sides and the defeat of Duryodhana by Pradyumna
Naradji says - Rajan! At the same time, all the Kauravas, whose fury had flared up, also set out with their respective armies to confront Pradyumna. Sixty thousand elephants, adorned with jewelled blankets (carpets or swings) and adorned with gold chains, came out hoisting the victory flag. The Gajrajas, who spread the solemn roar of sixty thousand dandubhis making the sound of sky-beams, similar to the great frequency (whirlwinds and waves) of Pralaya Payodhi, began to progress gradually. Two hundred thousand Mahamallas, armed with iron armour and wearing helmets, also went out to battle. There were also many elephants and bulls with them. Two hundred thousand Gajarothi warriors, clad in golden bracelets, bracelets, crowns, and beautiful kundals, followed suit, clad in golden armor. Two hundred thousand brave warriors adorned with yellow armour and crooked turbans, who had achieved victory in many battles, then went out to war. They were also seated on top of the elephants. Some were dressed in red and adorned with red jewellery. They went out to war on high elephants, armed with red swings. Some of the elephant warriors were dressed in black. Some were decorated with green clothes. Some were dressed in white and some were dressed in pink for the battle. Crores of royals had come on chariots resembling god planes, which were very high and adorned with lion flags. Flags were waved at those chariots. Many Kshatriya warriors came out of the city armed with weapons, riding agile horses bred in the Anga-Banga and Indus countries, which were fast like beads and adorned with gold ornaments. 1-10 |
The king! The majority of the warriors, decorated with iron armour and as skilled in warfare as the learned ones, began to emerge in droves from all directions. War bells like Bheri, Mridanga, Patah and Anak started playing. Suta, Magadha, and Vandijana were singing the praises of the Kauravas. Duryodhana, the son of Dhritarashtra, was sitting on a very large chariot in the midst of his vast army. The chariot looked very graceful, bright like a crescent moon and adorned with a canopy surrounded by four yojanas. The umbrella was received by him as a gift from the kings. Many dishes with diamond-studded sticks adorned the chariot in the hands of chavars. It had white horses in shoes and a lion flag flying above it. Apart from Duryodhana, other Dhritarashtra sons also sat on different chariots. Their chariots were also adorned with four-tiered canopies with pearl shields hanging from them. King Duryodhana, seated on a beautiful chariot with Bhishma, Kripacharya, Dronacharya, Bahrik, Karna, Shalya, the wise Somadatta, Ashwatthama, Dhaumya, the archer Veer Lakshmana, Shakuni, Dushasana, Sanjay, Bhurishrava, and Yajnaketa, was adorned like Indra with the Marudranas. 11-18 | (Vishwajitkhand chapter 16 to 20)
The king! At the same time, two 'Pratana' armies sent by the Pandavas from Indraprastha came to the aid of the Kauravas. The earth shook with the movement of the sixteen Akshauhini armies of the Kauravas, there was a commotion in the directions, and the sky was darkened by the flying dust. The sun looked like a star in a sky full of horses, elephants and chariots. It was pitch dark on the ground floor. All the gods and goddesses were terrified. Trees started falling down due to the collision of elephants here and there. The equestrianism of the cavalrymen left the continent on its own. The armies of the Kauravas and the Vrishnis began to clash with each other. Just as the seven seas begin to collide with their waves during the Holocaust, so too do the armies of both sides strike each other with sharp weapons. Just as the falcons wrestled with each other for meat, so too did the horses, elephants, chariots, and foot soldiers in the battlefield. The Mahavats fought fiercely against the Mahavats, the Saratis against the Sarathi kings, and the kings against the Rajas, as if the lions were fighting the lions with all their might. Filled with fury, the warriors cut off each other's heads with bright weapons and arrows such as swords, spears, powers, daggers, daggers, maces, spears, chakras, tomars, bhindipals, shotguns, daggers, and axes. 19-27 |
As darkness descended upon the battlefield through arrows, Pradyumna, the best of the archers, began to battle Duryodhana, repeatedly bows and arrows. Oh dear God! Aniruddha clashed with Bhishma, Deeptiman with Kripacharya, Bhanu with Dronacharya, Samba with Bahrik, Madhu with Karna, and Brihadbhanu with Shalya. Maithil! Krishna's son Chitrabhanu fought with the wise Somadatta, Vrikka with Ashwatthama, Arun with Dhaumya, Pushkar with Duryodhana's son Lakshmana, Krishnakumar Vedabahu with Shakuni in that great war, Srihari's son Shrutadeva with Dushasana in the battlefield, and Sunandana with Sanjay. The king! Gada fought with Vidura, Kritavarma fought with Bhurishrava, and Akrura fought with Yajna. 28-34 |
Thus a fierce battle broke out between the two armies. Srikrishnakumar Pradyumna wielded his arrows of Duryodhana's vast army in a manner similar to how the Varaha-incarnated god had disturbed the ocean of the holocaust with his molars. The pearls of elephants with arrowheads were falling from the sky as if stars were scattering on the ground floor at night. Maithilendra! With his arrows, Pradyumna struck the charioteers, chariots, and chariots in the great ocean just as the wind blows down large trees with its speed. 35-37 |
At that time, Duryodhana came there, repeatedly bowing his bow. He released ten arrows on Pradyumra in that battle, but Yadaveshwara Bhagavan Pradyumra shot them down before they could reach him. Duryodhana then again aimed at Pradyumna's armor and drove ten golden-winged bikes. They tore apart the armour of Psyche Pradyumna and buried it in his body. Mahavira Duryodhana, the mighty son of Dhritarashtra, then struck with a thousand arrows and killed a thousand horses of Pradyumna's chariot. Then with a hundred arrows, they broke even their best bow, including Pratincha. 38-41 | (Vishwajitkhand chapter 16 to 20)
Pradyumna gave up that chariot and immediately went to another chariot. He then clasped the bow given by Lord Krishna in his hands and ceremoniously placed a bow on it and drew it to his ear with an arrow. Then with the speed of his arm, he threw the van under Duryodhana's chariot. The arrow carried Duryodhana's chariot and carried it through the sky for two hours. The arrow then dropped Duryodhana's chariot from the sky just as the young boy threw Kamandalu. The chariot immediately broke down as it fell down. All his horses, including the charioteer, fell to their deaths. Mahabali's son Dhritarashtra immediately got into the second chariot. He wounded Pradyumna on the battlefield with ten strokes. Sreekrishnakumar Pradyumna, despite being hurt by those pines, was not as distracted as the elephant killed by a garland of flowers. He placed an arrow on the staff given to him by Krishna and fired it. As soon as he reached space with the arrow chariot and Duryodhana, the other arrow left by Pradyumna quickly moved further with it. By then, the third arrow had also reached there. He took the chariot with the horse and charioteer and flew from the sky to Dhritarashtra in the courtyard of the royal temple, as if the wind had blown down the lotus shell. After dropping the chariot there, the arrow returned to Pradyumna in the battlefield. The chariot shattered like coal as it fell down. Duryodhana vomited blood from his mouth and became moustache. 42-52 |
