English translation
The slaying of the Kol daitya by Baldevji; his journey to the pilgrimages on the banks of the Ganges; informing Mandukdev of the boon and the future story; then returning to Mathura by donating straw to other pilgrimages of the Ganges.
Bahulashwa asked, "Munna! What did Lord Krishna and Balarama do after returning to Mathura after having an excellent darshan of the Gopangas and the Gopas? The characters of Krishna and Baldev are very sweet. He is the Acquirer of all sins, the Benefactor of all virtues, and the Giver of the fourfold fruit. 1-2.
Srinardji said, "Rajan! Now listen to the second character of Shri Krishna and Baldevji, who is omnipotent, virtuous, and the giver of Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Nareshwar. Many people suffering from the demon Kol came to Mathura from Kausarvipur with humble Brahmins. At that time, Rohinandan Balarama had set out from Mathura on a hurried horseback to hunt with a few forwards. After paying obeisance to him on the way and worshipping him formally, all the people prostrated themselves at his feet and spoke with folded hands in a cheerful voice. 3 - 6. (Mathurukund Chapter 21 to 25)
The people said, "Rama! O Lord Rama! Oh dear Lord Mahabali! We have all come to your shelter suffering from a demon called Kol. Kol is the sister of the demon Kansaka. He conquers the demon king Kausarviko of Mahabali and rules his city. King Kausarvi has gone to the banks of the Ganges in fear of it, and there he is again chanting the lotus, the most revered lotus for his kingdom. Divide it up You have to help them. We are his blessed subjects, whom he has nurtured like a son. We were very happy to be under their protection. O Lord! Now the evil coal is causing us constant suffering. Though you have killed the valiant Kansa of Tribhuvanavijaya, Devendra. As long as Cole is alive, even Kansaku should not be considered dead. You have incarnated as Saguna to protect the devotees even though you are beyond nature. 7-12 |
Srinardji says - Rajan! Hearing of his words, Bhaktavatsal Sri Balarama went to Kaushambinagar, situated in the middle of the Ganges-Yamuna. Hearing of Balaram's arrival for battle, the mighty Kol also emerged from Kaushambi, armed with an army of ten Akshauhins. The army that roared like the sea of the Holocaust came like a river. The agile horses were his rising cradle. The chariot and the elephant etc. seemed to resemble a whale (Magar Matsya) in it. The whirlwinds were rising in the form of brave warriors. Seeing this, Balramji built a light bridge and started hitting with a strong musket after dragging the army away from Halagraha. At the same time, the foot soldiers, horses, chariots, and elephants were crushed like fruits in the battlefield and hundreds of thousands were crushed everywhere. The rest of the warriors fled the battlefield in fear. Kol, the armed demon, started a lone battle with Balramji. 13-18 |
The demon king raised his elephant towards Baldevji. The elephant's grave was littered with vermilion and muskets mixed with cow urine. The necklace was jewelled with a gold chain. It was pouring out of its heap. It had a total of four teeth. The sound of the bell made it sound louder. He was tall and shrieked like a giant. The color of his body was black, like the clouds of the Holocaust. Kol had climbed on the elephant from the side of his ear with a sharp stick. Inspired by Kolke, Baldev saw the bearded elephant approaching him and struck it with his fist, just as Indra had struck a mountain with a bajra. Mithileshwar! The great Gajraj's head was torn off by the musket, as if an earthen pot had been crushed by the stick. 19-23 | (Mathurukund Chapter 21 to 25)
The mouth of the kolka was like that of a pig. The red-eyed giant fell from the elephant. He hurled a sharp axe at Mahatma Madhav-Baldev. Woe to you! Balarama then struck him with a moustache, cutting his staff into hundreds of pieces in the same manner as if a balcony had broken glassware with a lathicharge. Then the wicked one struck Balramji on the chest with a heavy mace made of a thousand loads (about 3000 manas) of iron and it roared like a cloud. With that donkey's stroke, Mahabali Baldev struck the black-bodied Kol like Kajal on the head with a moustache. The musket hit his head and he fell on the battlefield; however, he got up and hit Baldevji hard with a punch and disappeared there. Then the elusive demon revealed the most terrifying demon-relationship, Maya. Soon the sky was covered by the clouds of the Holocaust, which were spreading darkness, triggered by a great storm. It started raining continuously with drops of blood resembling japaka flowers. After that, thick black clouds started raining disgusting things. It started raining dirty water containing urine, fats, feces, urine, alcohol and meat. The rain started pouring down all over the place. Knowing the magic created by the daitya, Mahaprabhu Baldev drove the huge musket that broke the enemy army. He was a deadly, clean, and strong weapon of all weapons, made of eight metals. It was a hundred yojanas in length and was burning like a fire. Baldevji's weapon muslin was twisting in ten directions and taking on great grace. He scattered the clouds of the sky in the same way that the sun wipes out the fog. Seeing the Muslim go up to the sky, Lord Balabhadra automatically picked up a weapon called 'Hal' and forcefully dispersed it in the middle, dragging everyone away with his splendor. 24-36 | (Mathurukund Chapter 21 to 25)
After the demon's illusion was destroyed, Mahabali Baldev grabbed his armbands and clutched his drunken armbands and, just as the child swung the zodiac sign Ruiki, moved it around and struck it on the earth as if a balcony had knocked down the kamandalu. From the fall of that giant, the whole earth trembled with a pulse (clock), with mountains, seas, and forests. The demon's teeth were broken, his eyes gleamed out, and he fainted and became the Grave of Death. Thus Mahadaitya Kol became lifeless like Vajra's slain Vritrasura. At that time, there were shouts in heaven and on earth. The murmurs of the gods grew louder and they began to shower flowers. Thus, after slaying Kolka, Krishna's elder brother Baldev gave Kaushambipuri to King Kausarvi and accompanied by Gargacharya and others went to bathe in the Bhagirathi. This work of his was for the removal of all defects and for the accumulation of people. 37-43 |
Brahmin acharyas like Garga bathed Madhav-Balarama in the Ganges while reciting auspicious Veda-mantras. Woe to you! Balramji donated one hundred thousand elephants, two hundred thousand chariots, ten million horses, ten billion milch cows, a hundred billion gems, and loads of jambunad gold to the Brahmins and went to Mathurapuri. Mithileshwar. The great pilgrimage site where Balarama bathed in the Ganges is known to scholars as Ramatirtha. A person who bathes in the Ganges of Ramtirtha on Kartik Purnima and in the month of Kartik is a hundred times more virtuous than in Haridwar. 44-48 |
Bahulashwa asked - Mahamune. Please tell me how far and at what place is the Mahapunyamaya 'Ramatirtha' located from Kaushambi. 49. (Mathurukund Chapter 21 to 25)
Narada said, "O king! Rajendra! Four yojanas from Kaushambi in the northeast and four yojanas from Pookara Kshetra in the northwest, six kos from Karna Kshetra and five kos from Nala Kshetra in the southeast indicate the location of Ramatirtha. Scholars have assumed the location of Ramatirtha at a distance of three kosas from Vriddhakeshi Siddha Peetha and three kosas east of Bilvakesh-Vana. 50-52 |
In Bengal, there was a king named Drishabha. He would always make fun of the hairy sage when he saw him look ugly. With this, the Lord cursed them, saying, "O Lord! Mayst thou be a ferocious pig-faced demon. Thus, the curse of the sage turned the king into a crooked demon named Kol. Then by Baldevji's stroke Mahadaitya got ultimate salvation by leaving the demonic body. Then Balaram, along with three ministers like Uddhav, immediately left for 'Jahvatirtha', where the Ganges originated from the right ear of Jahuke. Ganga is called 'Jahnavi' after that Brahmin-Shiromani-Jhuke. All the people stayed there through the night, giving alms to the Brahmins. From there, in the western part, there is a place called 'Aaharsthan', very dear to the Pandavas, where they stayed for the night. There, after giving alms and good food to the Brahmins, they went to Mandukadeva a year away. 53-59 | (Mathurukund Chapter 21 to 25)
Mandukadeva performed great penance to gain the favor of Anantadeva. Baldevji went there with his community for the same. He was standing on the strength of a foot with his mouth raised. His eyes were fixed on the meditation. He was fond of seeing Baldevji directly while seeing his form in his heart. Baldevji removed that form of himself from his heart. Then he opened his eyes and looked outside at his idol. He saw the most beautiful form of Anantadeva. He was adorned with a forest garland and had a kundal in one ear. His limbs were gaur and he was seated on a chariot with a flag drawn with a percussion mark. Seeing that most beautiful form of Anantadeva, he praised him with great devotion. Then he fell at the feet of his idol. Baldevji put his hand on his head and said - 'Ask for a groom. Then he said, 'O Lord! If you are truly pleased with me, or if I am worthy of your favor, then give me the best Bhagavata Samhita from Shukadeva's mouth, which is the best and the most destructive of all Kalidosha. " 60-65 |
Baldevji said - Anagh. You will receive the Shrimad Bhagavata Samhita through Uddhavji, whose kirtan is of utmost importance in the Kali Yuga. 66.
Manduka asked, "Swami! Why has God given Uddhavji the main authority to recite the Bhagavata Samhita? And when will I have my coincidence with them? Mayst thou dispel this doubt of mine. 67. (Mathurukund Chapter 21 to 25)
Baldevji said - I speak of the most secret and the most wonderful secret. Even today, this Uddhavji resides near me. You take a look at these. This excellent vision is going to bring you good fortune; but today, on the occasion of a pilgrimage, you cannot receive their teachings. I am telling you how they will be preachers of the Bhagavata. I have established Uddhav in the position of Shriman Acharya because these are the embodiments of Samhitjñāna. Lord Krishna sent Udhava as his representative for the love of the Brahmins and Gopangas like the Nandas. All that is one's own form, the position of a parikrama, and whatever is the Absolute Bhagavata, with one's nature and attributes, is offered to Udhava by the Supreme Being, Lord Krishna. They have behaved by treating Uddhav and themselves as one and the same. Krishna had first revealed his inner secret to no one but Uddhav. He has interviewed his abhinaya in these. The Brajans worshipped him with great reverence, knowing that he was Krishna himself. In both spring and summer, they roamed the Brajbhoomi and pacified the grief of the people around Sriradha and Radhakunda. Uddhav has roamed everywhere in the land with the followers of the Vrajavas. They have been described as' partisans' of the gopas and gopangas, including cows and Nandas. They are competent in ministerial authority and are the forerunners of all councillors. When the time comes for the disappearance of God, the Dharmapala-bodied God will also bestow His supreme miraculous radiance on Udhava. Their currency rights (the right to say anything on God's behalf and to issue an order with their stamp or seal) are ubiquitous and ever-present. They will be given special authority by God in times of disappearance. These Badarikashrama-tirthas will make the devotees, including the seated parikas, realize Bhagavadrahasya. Uddhav will take care of the immense pain that Arjuna and others will go through with God's departure. The Yadavas in Mathura would be succeeded by Vajranabha. In the community of Krishna's grandsons and empresses, the agony of Bhagavadvayoga will be alleviated by the Uddhavas appointed directly by Sriharika. 68-80 |
The clan of Kauravas would have a king known as Parikshit. His most brilliant son would be known by the name Janamejaya. He will no doubt perform a serpent sacrifice to destroy his father's enemy, Takshaka Nagaka Kulaka. He, too, will receive all the sacrificial material only from the Udhava. At that time there will be the story of the divine Srimad Bhagavat Purana, in which people of bright (sattvic) nature will be gathered, there is no doubt about it. The serpent sacrifice by Janamejaya will end with the offering of the best Brahmarishi (believer) among the great Bhagavad devotees. Maharaj Janmejaya would worship the Brahmins who performed the yajna-samskara and give them a hundred grams as agraharas. 81-85 |
Subsequently, at the behest of Acharya Pravar Sriprasadji, King Janamejaya will go to Shukarakshetra (Soros) and stay there for a month. The Brahmins would return from that place with their acharyas, visit the pilgrimage sites on the banks of the Ganges, and encamp with their attendants at Shayanagar, surrounded by the Satpurushas, with various donations of cows, large elephants, horses, jewels, clothes, and food of their choice. There, at the behest of the Sri Guru, the Ashwamedha will perform a yajna, gathering materials and means, and be the Sarvajita (conqueror). Thus, one will take refuge in Sri Gurudev, the lord of the monolithic kingdom, and take the pilgrimage as a very solitary one on the banks of the delightful Ganges, east of the city of Shayan. There will be Bhagavata Katha with great joy in the society of the righteous. In that perfect society, you will also be one and listen to the story of Bhagavata. Listening to it will earn you the Nirmal Padak. You have performed penance for me, so I have revealed this secret to you. Thus, giving a boon to Manduka-deva, Balaramji left with his servants. 86-94 |
Shuddha is a picturesque place located on the banks of the Ganges at the northeast corner of Shayanagar, north of Kantakitirtha and south of the Pushpavati River. The extent of it is in a cosmic way. While staying there, Sankarsanadeva engaged in charity. Balramji donated ten thousand horses, a hundred chariots, a thousand elephants and ten thousand cows there with great joy. All the gods and sages of penance came there. They all worshipped Sankarshana Deva with great reverence. Then he praised: "O Lord! You are the destroyer of the Hanta and the Garhbhasura (dragon) of the Kolesh demon, salute you. The Halayudha Salute to you. Greetings to you who are wearing muslims. Salutations to you in the form of beauty. Greetings again and again to you who bear the flag marked with rhythm. Hearing this praise from all of them, Sankarshana said, "Ask me for the boon you all desire." 95-100 |
The sage Brahma and the gods said, "O God! May we be free from all obstacles by Your command whenever we contemplate Your steps in the face of opposition. 101.
Balarama said, "Whenever you come to my refuge and remember me, then I will surely protect you in the Kali Yuga, this is my true promise." The sage Pungavas attained boon by worshipping Me at this place, hence this tirth will be known as' Sankarshana Sthan 'in the Kali Yuga. Those who will worship Ganga-knowledge and gods in this tirth, donate to Brahmins, feed them and worship Lord Vishnu, their life on this earth will be successful. They will go to the realm of the gods. Or if they have a desire, they will only achieve that desire. 102-105 |
Balarama then moved with everyone to his Puri in Mathura. He performed penance for the people by slaying the demon Kol and bathing in the waters of the Ganges. Those who will listen to this story of Balarama, the god of human strength, will be freed from all sins and will attain the supreme goal. 106-107 |
