English translation

By the grace of Lord Krishna, the life of Daitya Rajkumar Kunandan was saved.

Having said this, the sepoys, their eyes red with fury, hurried to Puri to capture the prince with great gusto. The prince had drunk wine and slept in the middle of dinner at night; therefore, he had forgotten the king's commandment because of his drunkenness. Hearing the proclamation on the altar, his wife wept in horror, and awoke her husband, the prince, saying: "O Veer! Get up! Get up! Get up! It was early in the morning. This rule of your father is heard in Puri with the voice of Nagadeki - 'Those who will not go to war, sons, etc., will be worthy of slaughter.' Go therefore quickly, and see your Father. " 3 - 7. (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 31 to 35)

He regained some consciousness upon waking his beloved wife. When Balwalki's army left, he was revived by his wife. Then, after giving up sleep, the prince got up and immediately took the bow and arrow and went to war in a chariot, remembering Lord Shiva and Ganesha. When the prince came, the centurion asked angrily, 'With what force have you transgressed the rule of the demon king?' Tell that to me. My son did not reach the battlefield as quickly as you did, so Balwant killed him by putting him on the gallows; so go to your father. Your father is very truthful. They have sent me to seize you, so they will soon kill you. " 8-12 |

The prince's face was parched with dread at the harsh words of the commander. He went to his father like a sad maid. His father, surrounded by the daitya community, sat on the chariot in fury, eager to conquer Aniruddha. Going to him, the prince had a vision of his father. The prince was ashamed and terrified when he saw his father and bowed at his feet. In front of Danavendra, he was standing face down on the earth. Balwal grinded his teeth in anger and said, 'Oh! Why hast thou transgressed my commandment to thy own destruction? I will punish you for this crime of yours. Surely you entered the house to save your life from the battlefield out of fear. Kunandan You are not a son, you are a dwarf, you are like an enemy, and you are very filthy. I will forsake thee, and kill thee now with the face of a hundred. " 13-17 |

After saying this to his son, Veer Balwal started shedding tears of grief and said, "Hi! Why did I make such a promise? Ahhh! I killed the soldier's son without offense; my son will die from the same sin, no doubt. All my soldiers will scold me and laugh at me if I rescue my brave son from death by force. 'When I saw the demon king thus grieving and grieving for his son, the commander, full of fury and indignation, smiled. 18-21 |

The commander exclaimed, "O king! First, kill this son of yours, Kunandan, quickly. After this, the Yadavas will have a war with the demons. Daivendra! You are truthful and this deed is very terrible. If you don't do it because of grief, you will go to hell. Bhopal! King Dasharatha, the Kosalapati, renounced his Rama-like son to protect Satya. Harishchandra, bound by truth, had sold his beloved wife, son, and even himself. Sacrifice gave away all the earth because of the truth. Virochana gave up his own life. King Shibi had renounced his body to Apakirtika and Dadhichina. Just as Guru Vashishta renounced food to the Prashabhrakas and King Rantideva, so did Daitya Raja! Thou shalt also cast off the temptation of this disobedient son, and kill him. The first thing you promised was, 'I will immediately kill my disobedient son and brother,' so what about the second? "One should live in a country where the king is truthful. Never live in a country whose king is a liar. 22-28 |

Mr. Gargji says, "On hearing the commander's words, Balwale, being depressed, ordered him to kill his son too." Balwal then, in grief, went before the Yadavas. Here the centurion told the prince what his father had commanded him. Hearing this, Kunandan quickly replied to him as follows. 29-30 |

The prince said, "Senapati! You are a subordinate; therefore, you must obey the king. Parashurama had his mother's head cut off at the behest of his father. Soldier! I am at peace with myself. I have done the work of righteousness. Now I have no fear of death. Thou shalt cast me into the abyss. 31-32 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 31 to 35)

Having said this, the prince donated his crown, crowns, pearl necklaces, golden garlands, and all the ornaments like the kundal and kada to the Brahmins. The Brahmins blessed the prince with great sorrow. 33-34 |

After that, by bathing, pouring tirtha mud on his body, wearing Tulasi daal on his face and Tulasi garland on his neck, the prince said, "Lord Krishna! O Rama! '- began to remember God, saying thus. Rajendra! The guards forcefully took hold of both his arms and angrily put him in Shataghani's face. At the same time, there was a wave of panic. All the soldiers began to cry out in unison. Balwal also wept and so did the Brahmins who stood there. The gunpowder was filled with gunpowder, copper balls were poured into it, and it caught fire and burned. At that time, seeing the fierce fire, Prince Kunandan spoke this serene word, remembering the all-pervading God Krishna and shedding tears. 35-40 |

"I think of Shrikrishna Mukunda Harika, whose eyes are as vast as a lotus, whose teeth are as bright as a conch shell and a moon, who lives in the guise of Narendra, and whose feet are also worshipped by the gods like Indra. O Lord Krishna! O Govinda! Oh, the green! Oh dear! O Dwarkanath Shri Krishna Govinda. O Vrajeshwara Shri Krishna Govinda! And O Lord Krishna Govinda, the Lord of the Earth! Protect me from your fear. Govinda! Your memory had saved the elephant from a customer crisis. Swayambhuva Manu, Prahlada, Ambarisha, Dhruva, Anartaraja Kakshivan were also freed from fear. Bahula was freed from the clutches of the lion. Ravata and Chandrahasaki were also saved from going to your refuge, in the same way I have also come to your refuge. * Ahh! It is not fair if I die early without fighting. I have not yet satisfied Aniruddha with my arrows on the battlefield. The Yadavs were not satisfied. The sons of Krishna were not seen. Do not cut this body of yours to pieces with arrows dropped from the rainbow. In such a situation, the knight Kunandan's speed became like that of a thief! Oh my goodness! I am your devotee. All sinners laugh at me when they see my wickedness. Seeing him on the ground, Yamaraja also flees, Vinayaka, the disruptor, dies, how will that venerable and absolute Krishna devotee kill me, Kunandan, with a hundred hands. " 41-48 |

Srigarji says - Rajan! At the same time as the knight Kunandan was saying such a thing, someone at the command of the commander released Shataghani. There was an uproar as soon as he left. O Lord! At that time, a strange thing happened to remember Srikrishna Chandra. The fire had cooled and the flames had been extinguished. Raj Singh! All the people who were standing there, including the king, were amazed at this surprise. Then the commander said, 'The gunpowder is dry, and the shells are still there, but the prince is not there.' This proves that he has not been killed on the battlefield. " 49-52 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 31 to 35)

Hearing this, the brave men were furious and said, 'This most intelligent and sinless knight prince is a devotee of Lord Krishna. That is why it is God who has saved him from suffering. You must not kill it again. 53.

The commander was very angry when he heard about the heroics. When he looked again, he saw the prince sitting on Shataghani's face. His eyes were closed and he was chanting 'Krishna, Krishna'. On seeing him, the rogue soldier then shot him to death. But at that moment, the cannon burst and made a thunderous noise. The commander was killed by a cannonball and the soldiers who followed him were burned by the flames.
