English translation
Rangoji Gopaka, a victim of the Kaurava army, with the help of Kansaki, resides on the border of Vrajmandal and manifests as his daughter in the form of the Jalandhari Gopis.
Naradji says - Mithileshwar! Now listen to the description of women in the harem of Jalandhar being born as Gopis. Your Majesty! At the same time, listen to the works of those who are always at the mercy of men for their sins. 1.
The king! On the banks of the Saptanadi, there was an excellent town known as' Rangapattana ', which was rich and vast with all kinds of wealth. It was a two plan wide circular town. The owner or patriarch of the town was a Gopa named Rangoji, who was a great warrior. He was a joint son and grandson and was rich in wealth. He always gave one crore gold coins in annual form to King Dhritarashtra, the lord of Hastinapur. Mithileshwar! Once upon a time, even after years had passed, the money maniac secretly did not pay the king an annual tax. Not only that, he did not go until he met Gopanayak Rangoji. Then ten thousand warriors sent by Dhritarashtra went and bound the cowherd and brought him to Hastinapur. For many years, Rangoji was locked up in a prison. Even when tied up and beaten, the greedy cow is not afraid. He did not give even a little money to King Dhritarashtra. 2 - 8. (Madhurikand chapters 12 to 18)
At some point, Gopanayak Rangoji escaped from that dreadful prison and came to Rangpur overnight. Then again three Aksauhini forces, armed with the powerful force sent by Dhritarashtra, went to capture him. The Gopa, also in armor, began to confront Dhritarashtra's army by repeatedly spreading bow and arrow across the battlefield, raining down flashes of bright arrows. The enemy cut off his armor and bows and killed his relatives; then he came to his pur (fortress) and fought for a few days. In the end, the orphaned and terrified Rangoji yearned for a protector or protector. He sent his emissary to the Yadava king Kansa. After reaching Mathura, the envoy went to the royal court and bowed before Ugrasenkumar Kansa with his head bowed and both hands tied with anklets. 9-14 |
'Maharaj! Rangapatna has a Gopa known as Rangoji, who is the best among the lords and moralists of that town. The enemy has surrounded their city from all sides. They have become very worried and come to your shelter as orphans. On this earth, only you are the one who will defeat the sufferings of the poor and the afflicted. Veeras like Bhaumasura sing your virtues. You are Mahabali and after conquering the gods, demons, and demons in battle, Devaraja sits in his capital like Indra. Just as the Chakor Chandramako, the community of lotuses, remembers the sun, the water particles rained down by the clouds of the bright autumn season, the starving man remembers food, and the thirsty creature, Pani, similarly, Rangoji Gop is remembering only you, struck by the fear of the enemy. " 15-17 | (Madhurikand Chapter 12 to 18)
Naradji says - Rajan! Hearing this from the messenger, Dinvatsala Kansa considered going there with an army of millions of demons. The epigraph was composed of vermilion and musk melted in cow urine at the site of his elephant's herd. The elephant was as tall as the Vindhyachal and was shedding feathers from its trunk. He had ankles on his legs. He would howl loudly like the roar of a cloud. Thus, riding on a Gajaraja named Kuvalayapida, the madamata king Kamsa suddenly set out for Rangapatna, armed with armor, and accompanied by the Mallas of Chanur, Mushti, etc., and the daitya-warriors of Keshi, Vyomasura, and Vrishasura. There was a fierce battle between the armies of the Yadavas and the Kauravas with arrows, swords, and tridents hitting each other. As darkness fell from the arrows, Kansa entered the Kaurava army with a huge mace in his hands, just as wildfire had entered the forest. Just as Indra brought down the mountain with his Vajra, Kansa knocked down many armoured heroes with his Vajra-like mace. He trampled the chariots with a stroke of the foot, struck the horses with his heels, and pulled them out of the saddle. The elephant was killed by the elephant and several elephants were trampled at their feet. Mahabali Kansa captured the shoulders or orbits of many elephants and hurled them into the sky while moving them forcefully with canoes and swings. The king! On that battlefield, the mighty Vyomasura would capture the tusks of elephants, toss them with frantic bells, and throw them in front of him. The wicked demon, the mighty Vrishasura, with his horses, lifted the chariots on his horns and hurled them in all four directions, moving them repeatedly. Rajendra! The mighty daitya king Keshin forcefully knocked down many heroes and horses with his hind legs. Seeing such a fierce battle, the remaining heroes of the Kaurava army fled in ten directions, terrified. The demon king Veer Kansa took Rangoji Gopa with him to Mathura with his family, playing drums in celebration of the victory. 18-31 | (Madhurikand Chapter 12 to 18)
The Kauravas were filled with fury on hearing the news of their army's defeat. But they all fell silent, seeing the favor of the demons of the present day. On the border of Brajmandal was a beautiful town known as Berhishad, which was given to Rangoji by the mighty daitya king Kansa. Gopanayak Rangoji started living there. By the boon of Sriharika, the women of Jalandhar's ancestors were conceived by the wives of the same Gopa. Those Gopa daughters, adorned with form and youth, were given in marriage to other Gopas, but they fell deeply in love with Lord Krishna out of jealousy. Vrindavaneshwara Shyamsundara, in the month of Chaitra, in the great month of Maharash, took a tour with all of them inside the virtuous and beautiful Vrindavan. 32-36 |
Thus was completed the fourteenth chapter, the 'Upakhyan of the Jalandhari Gopis', in the Narada Bahulashva-Samvad under the Madhuryakanda in the Srigarghasamhita. 14.
