The Significance of the Sea and the Raivatak Mountains of the Dwarka Region

Srinardji says - A king who gives respect to all! Now listen to the description of Dwaravati and the greatness of the sea, the remover of all sins, the bestower of virtue, and the bearer of the fruits of bathing in those pilgrimages. 1.

Oh dear! All three gods (Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh) reside in the body of a person who observes a full-month fast in the month of Vaisakh, who formally worships and salutes the ocean by bathing, and donates gems to it. Not only this - the touch of his body immediately removes Brahma-hata, and wherever he goes, the land becomes auspicious. Even a sinful man who slays the world will see him and, upon death, abolish his group of sins and attain supreme salvation. 2 - 5.

Honourable! Now listen to the greatness of Mount Raivata, which is the remover of all sins, the giver of virtue, and the giver of enjoyment and salvation. Medhavi, the son of Gautama, was very intelligent and a devotee of Vishnu. He meditated on Mount Vindhyachal for a hundred ayuta (one million) years. One day, a sage named Apantaratama came to meet him directly, but the ardent ascetic Medhavi did not rise from his seat. Then the transgressors were filled with indignation and cursed him, saying, 'Sinful men who have no devotion to the saints! You have become very proud of your penance. Your position is like that of a mountain. So beware! You're going to be a mountain right here. With that, they went straight to the other end. The meritorious Shailabhava was succeeded as the son of Srisailam. But he became a great ascetic and a recollector of past lives under the influence of his devotion to Vishnu. 6-11 | (Dwarkand Chapter 11 to 15)

Due to caste bias, they immediately came to war, surrounded by two mountains, the Sumerus and the Himalayas, and millions of others. Just as Hanuman had uprooted Dronagiri alive there, Ravata uprooted the mountain with both his arms and lifted it forcefully, and as soon as he thought of walking from there, he saw many mountains with weapons present there. On seeing them, the king scoffed loudly, as if there had been an electrical commotion. The whole universe, including the seven worlds and the seven underworlds, reverberated with the sound of their lions. At the same time, all the weapons fell out of the hands of all those warriors. As they disarmed the mountains, they made repeated rumblings and struck Ravata with their fists and knees on the way, just as they had gone a long way in the past to kill him in pursuit of Mahabali Hanumanji, the protector of Dronachal. Even when those mountains were struck, King Raivat did not let go of the mountain with his hand. 23-28 |

Hearing of the attack of the mountains on King Raivata with my own mouth, Bhaktavatsala Lord Krishna immediately came from the sky to the aid of his devotee and gave his excellent brilliance to the king, saying 'Don't be afraid', 'Abhyadaan', and immediately disappeared there. King Ravata, enriched with his brilliance, placed the mountain in one hand and struck Mount Sumeru with his punch that also pierced the Vajra, as if Mahabali had struck a mountain with a Vajra by Indra, the Vajra bearer. His punch caused Mount Meru to collapse in disarray. Then the mighty king trampled the other mountains like the Vindhyas with his feet, knocking down the snowman with his arm. 29-33 |

All the mountains, including the Vindhyas, fled in ten directions, leaving the battlefield in terror as they were crushed by the shock of their feet. Thus, after conquering the community of mountains, King Ravata, who was as strong as a mountain, took the mountain with a thunderous roar of victory and established it in the land of Anarta. 34-35 | (Dwarkand Chapter 11 to 15)

The king. That mountain became famous as' Raivatkachal 'after the same name as King Raivat. That supreme mountain with devotion to God still sits in the Dwarka region. His vision alone absolves one of the sin of Brahmahatya. With a touch of it, a person attains the fruits of a hundred sacrifices. By traveling and circumambulating the mountain and bowing down, a person who gives food to a Brahmin attains the supreme position of Lord Vishnu. 36-38 |

Thus was completed the fourteenth chapter in the Narada Bahulashva-Samvad under Dwarka Khanda in the Srigargha Samhita, titled 'The Mahatmya of the Sea and Raivatakachal'. 14.
