Varishmatipuri, etc., manifestation of vanithas as gopis and their raasvilas with God; preface to the Yamuna-calendar in Mandhata and Saubhareke Samvad
Naradji says - Rajan! Swami Nanda of Shonpur in Braj was very wealthy. Mithileshwar! He had over five thousand wives. From her womb were born the companions of Samudrasambhava Lakshmi, who received a similar boon from the Matsya avatar-wearing god. O Lord! Apart from these, other strange herbs, revealed by the exploitation of the earth, appeared there in the form of gopis. The women of Barhishmati Puri, who were blessed by King Prithuka, were also born in Vraj as Jatismara Gopis and the nymphs were also revealed as Gopis by the boon of Nar-Narayana. The daughters of Vamana and Nagaraja were born in the great spring of Lord Sesha. Durvasa Muni had given them all the wonderful 'Krishna-calendar', by which by worshipping Yamunaji, they were described as Sripatika Varu. 1 - 5.
Once upon a time, in the enchanting Vrindavan, on the divine Yamuna Plateau, adorned with lush green trees and communities adorned with male and cuckoos, cuckoos and cranes buzzed with the hum of bumblebees, and in the honeymoon season, surrounded by lush vines and served by a cool, fragrant breeze, Madanmohan Shyamsundar Sriharini, along with the Gopanganas, began the festival of swinging in seclusion under the kadamba tree, which seemed to be enchanting from the range of Kalpavriksha. There was an uproar of rippling waves of the Yamuna. She was swinging with Premavihwala Gopanganayen Srihari. Just as Rati and husband Kamadeva adorned themselves with Rati, Shyamsundara Sri Krishna adorned himself in Vrindavan with Kantimati Kirtikumari Sriradha, more than a million moons. What can be the description of the penance of all the Gopanganas who were thus received by Sri Krishna as the most perfect Nandananda? All the beautiful daughters of the Nagarajas, who were born as Gopis, were present in the service of Sribalabhadra Hariki on the banks of the Yamuna in the month of Manohar Chaitra. The king! Thus I described to you the auspicious character of the gopis, who are most holy and bearer of all sins. What do you want to hear again now? . 6-13 |
The multitude of people spoke up. Oh my lord. What is the Yamunajika calendar given by Durvasa, which gave the Gopis access to Govinda? Explain it to me. 14.
Srinardji said, "Rajan! In this regard, experts cite the example of an ancient history, the mere hearing of which leads to the complete expiation of sins. In Ayodhya, a brilliant Rajasiromani known as Mandhata was the ruler of that Puri. One day they went into the forest to hunt and, while wandering, reached the beautiful ashram of Saubharimunike. His ashram was located directly on the picturesque banks of the Yamuna in Vrindavan. There, paying obeisance to his son-in-law Soubhrimuni, the respected Mandhata said. 15-17 |
He said, "Oh my goodness! You are the all-knowing, the best of the almighty, and to those blinded by ignorance is like another divine sun. Tell me soon any excellent means by which a kingdom may be established in this world endowed with complete achievements and attain the likeness of Lord Krishna in the Hereafter. 18-19 |
Thus was completed the fifteenth chapter of the Narada Bahulashva-Samvad under Madhuryakanda in the Shri Garga Samhita, titled 'The Dialogue of Soubhari and Mandhata and the Anecdote of the Origination of the Females of Berhishmatipuri, the Apsaras, the Asuras, the Asura-Kanyas, and the Nagaraja Girls as Gopis'. 15.
