Aniruddha's departure from the harem for the protection of the horses with orders; Sambaka's determination to help them; Lakshmana's encouragement to fight before them; Krishna's brothers and sons also departing at Krishna's command; and a detailed description of the Yadava's Chaturangini army.
Srigarji says - Rajan! Thereafter, saluting the Gurus, Aniruddha went to Antara Puram to seek the command of Devaki, Rohini, Rukmini, Satyabhama and all the other Srihari-Vallabhas. There he obeyed them all, bowed down to his mother Rati and Rukmavati, and said to them, 'I go to protect the horse. The king has given me orders for this. Many other Yaduvanshi heroes are going with me. " 1-2.
The king! Hearing this statement of Aniruddha, the mothers embraced him wholeheartedly and blessed him by giving orders to the prostrate Pradyumna Kumar from Gaddakantha. After saluting the mothers, they went to the palaces of their wives. Seeing her husband come, all three wives, including Usha, respected him. But the prospect of separation made them all sad. Aniruddha reassured the beloved villagers and returned to the court. 3 - 5. (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 11 to 15)
Rajendra! After that, sages and sages recited a hymn to Aniruddha for the journey to protect the sacrificial horse. He was then worshipped by all the citizens by paying obeisance to all the sages, gurus, Maharaj Ugrasena, Shurasena, Vasudeva, Balarama, Krishna, his father Pradyumna and other revered Yadavas. O Lord! He carried a bow and arrow in his hands, gloves made of wheat skin in his fingers, armour-kundals, and shoes in his feet. The mighty Mahavira Aniruddha, like a lion, carried a shield, sword, crown, and power, and wore ornaments made of gold. Then they came out of their Puri by the divine chariot given by Indra. At that time, chanwars were being waved all around Aniruddha, traveling with thunderous sounds and chanting of Veda mantras. All the citizens were watching this journey of his. 6-11 |
Subsequently, Lord Srikrishnachandra sent ministers like Udhava to accompany him, and heroic warriors such as Bhoja, Vrishni, Andhaka, Madhu, Shurasena, and Utpatra in Dasarnakula. King Ugrasena then addressed the Yaduvanshi heroes and asked, "Yadava! Tell me, who will go to help Aniruddha in the war? Upon hearing this, Jambavatikumar Samba saluted the king in the presence of all. 12-14 |
Samba said - Rajendra. I will protect and help Aniruddha from the enemies by always being united in the great battle. If I do not protect them in the battlefield, Your Majesty. In that state, listen to my Satyavadi's vow: 'The speed that a person attains by fasting on the renounceable Dashamividdha Ekadashi, I will surely achieve the same speed.' If I can't do this rescue work, the same speed as the cow slaughterers and brahmahatars will happen to me. " 15-18 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 11 to 15)
Saying such a thing, Samba went from there to the harem, says Srigarji. There, he bowed to Mata Jambavati and made all-out prayers. Hearing them, the mother felt a sense of separation and took her son to heart and blessed him. After that, saluting all the mothers, he went to his wife's house. Seeing them coming, Shubhalakshmi gave Lakshmana a seat to sit and did not say anything as her throat was blocked by tears. Samba reassured him and explained his intentions. Hearing this, she spoke to her husband, distressed at the prospect of separation. 19-22 |
Lakshmana said, "O husband! You must always protect Aniruddha's horse. If you have the opportunity to fight, fight head-on. Never shy away from the battlefield. You have thousands of brothers and all of them have thousands of human women. O Nath! If she smiles at me because she is your sweetheart after hearing about your defeat in the war, I will die of grief at that time. 23-25 |
Hearing Lakshmana's words, Samba smiled and spoke his soulful language. 25.
Samba said, "Oh no! Even if all the three worlds come together to face me on the battlefield, you will hear that I have scattered them all. Good luck! If the knight Samba turns away from the battlefield, he should be considered a blasphemer of the Vedas and Brahmins for his sins. I will not see your moon face again in that state. 26-28 |
Thus, says Srigarji, assuring his first sweetheart, he made the second sweetheart patient. Then they left the house together with Abhimanyu and Subhadra. The Samba, armed with a bow and sword, set out on a chariot for the journey and went into the grove surrounded by Yadavas, where Aniruddha was present. Then Krishna sent all his brothers like Gada and all his sons like Bhanu and Deeptiman. They were all very brave and skilled in warfare. They armed themselves with bows and arrows and marched out of the city with an army of chaturanginis numbering in the millions. Their divine chariots were adorned with flags bearing the symbols of Tal, Hans, Pisces, Peacocks and Lions. The limbs of those chariots were each adorned with gold. Each of the chariots had four pairs of horse shoes. All those chariots were very tall and adorned like the vimana of the gods. They were fitted with umbrellas and chavars. Above those chariots were golden urns, shining like the sun. They were affixed with mesh bandages. Through such chariots, all the sons of Krishna came out of Kushasthali. 29-34 |
The king. Then came the elephants, adorned with golden bulls, with petals made of cow urine, vermilion, and musk. They were as black as elephants, coal, and freshwater. It was pouring out of everyone's mouth. Their white teeth looked like a lotus tube. Elephants of the Deer Island tribe looked mountain-shaped because they were very tall. Their bells were ringing and they looked very strange. The elephants in the Arawat clan were white pigments. They had three stamens each and four teeth each. All of them were brought by Lord Krishna from the capital of Bhowmasur. They all made it out of Puri. There were a hundred thousand elephants with flags flying on their backs and a hundred thousand tusks placed above them. There were millions of elephants that had no mahouts sitting on them. They too were adorned with golden swings. Subsequently, ten million Gajarajas emerged, armed with knights and warriors. Just as in the sea but wandering, so in that army were those Gajarajas wandering around. They uprooted the bushes with their staffs and threw them into the sky, soaking the earth with the torrent of wine and shaking it with the stroke of their feet. They were also able to demolish palaces, forts, and mountain peaks by the impact of their heads. He was the one to crush the entire army of the enemies of Mahabali Gajraj. The swings on them were blue, yellow, black, white and red. They were studded with gold chains and were very elegant. 35-43 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 11 to 15)
The king. Then all the horses that Narada had seen in the stables came out of the city adorned with gold necklaces. Some horses were very agile, some had smoky colors, and they were very charming to look at. Some of the colors were black and some were black. Some were as tall as a lotus. They all had very beautiful shoulders. Some of the horses were as white as milk. Many of them seemed to be the same as water. Some of the beads were as yellow as turmeric. Some were saffron in colour, and some horses were red like palanquins. Some had pale bodies and some were as clean as crystal. All of them were equally fast as the beads. Some were green, some copper-colored, some Kusumbhaki-C kanti-wale, and some parrot-winged. Some were as bright as a scarlet moon, some as bright as a gaur, and some as bright as a full moon. All of those horses were divine beings. Some had parts that were the same color as vermilion. Some were as radiant as the burning fire and some as radiant as the sun. The king! These horses came from all over the country from the glory of Lord Krishna at Dwarkapuri. They all set out for the journey that day. 44-49 |
The horses present in Krishna's stables were those of Vaikuntha and those of Svetadvipa. Some of them were peacock-like kantiwales and some were blue-throated. Some had varnas as bright as lightning, and some like eagles. All those horses were adorned with divine wings. The gems were illuminated in their seals. They were decorated with white leather. They were adorned with pearl garlands and red coloured clothes. All of them were decorated with gold. The divine light was radiating from their tails and mouthpieces. They came out in thousands of all-purpose divine horses. 50-53 |
O Lord! These horses of Lord Krishna did not touch the land with their feet. They were swift, agile, and graceful, as were the wind and the beads. The king!
