English translation
The fierce battle of Shakunika, the resurrection of her land by touching it even after being killed seven times; finally, the killing of her by Lord Krishna tactfully.
Naradji says - Rajan! With the rest of the demons, Shakuni, a mighty and valiant warrior armed with a variety of weapons, mounted the divine graceful horse on a high pedestal, fainted from anger, and bowed, came to fight even before Lord Krishna. 1-2.
Seeing the re-arrival of the demon Shakuni and his army, all the Scorpions picked up their weapons. At that time, there was a fierce battle between the Daitons and the Yadavas. The Veeras started fighting with the Veeras like lions were fighting with lions. The king! Shakuni was in front of everyone, hissing like a thunderous roar. He presented the day with the slogan. Lord Garudadhvaja, who wore a rainbow when the arrows were darkened, was adorned with his bow in the same way that a rainbow adorns a cloud. Directly, Lord Krishna with his single arrow mercilessly cut the arrows of the Asura Shakuni. 3-7 | (Vishwajitkhand Chapter 41 to 45)
Mithileshwar! In the battle, Shakuni shot ten arrows into the heart of Lord Krishna by pulling his staff to the ground. Then, with ten arrows, Lord Krishna cut open the arrowhead of the ominous bow, which made a serious sound like the fierce struggle of the great cycles of the ocean. Nareshwar. Shakuni, the elusive demon, in all his sight, took a hundred forms and began to fight with Srihari. It was then that Lord Krishna took on a thousand forms and began to fight the demon. Shakuni, the mighty daitya king, turned the fiery trident made by Mayasura and drove it over Srihari. Then, in a fit of rage, the most perfect Mahābahu Śrīhāra cut the trident in the same way as an eagle with a sharp beak bit a serpent. 8-13 | (Vishwajitkhand Chapter 41 to 45)
Filled with fury, Mahabahu Srihari then mounted his mace on Shakuni's head and knocked the giant down from the horse with the weight of the mace. The demon, suffering from a mace wound, fainted for a moment. Then he took his mace to the battlefield and fought with Madhava. 14-15 |
At that time, there was a fierce battle between the two of them with maces in the battlefield. The rattling sound of the maces sounded like a thunderbolt. Shakuniki's mace fell to the earth after being crushed by Krishna's mace. She started burning like charcoal at the sight of all in battle. Just as two lions fought in the mountains, and two elephants fought in the forest, so in the battlefield, both Krishna and Shakuni fought each other. Shakuni pushed Krishna back a hundred yojanas and Krishna pushed him back a thousand yojanas on the ground floor. Tribhuvanath Srihari then clutched him in both arms and pushed him to the ground with his thighs as if a balcony had thrown a kamandalu. This caused the demon some distress. Then the warlike tyrant Shakuni captured Mount Jarudhi and threw it on Lord Krishna. Seeing the mountain rising above him, Lord Krishna returned it to Kamalnayan. Thus, while chanting the word Jai, they kept on hitting each other with the same mountain. The king! The two also crushed the Chandravati-Puri due to the impact of that mountain. 16-22 |
At that time, the demon Shakuni was very angry and took up the shield and sword and came to fight in front of Mahatma Krishna. Then Lord Sharangadhara took his rainbow and suddenly placed a crescent face arrow on top of it, which shone like the summer sun on the battlefield. The divine arrow, released from the rainbow, went into the abyss, cutting off Shakunika's head while electrifying the universe. At that time, the demon Shakuni died and fell on the battlefield. Mithileshwar! He came back to life in an instant as soon as the role was touched. Putting his severed head on the trunk with his own hand, he rose again to fight, and the miraculous thing happened. 23-27 |
Thus, even after being killed seven times at the hands of Krishna, he revived by touching the great Asura land and rose again like Rahu. He now set out alone to annihilate the Yadava clan. The mighty giant, like a wildfire in the forest, immediately entered the Yadava army. He captured Mahavira's horsemen and drunken elephants with their arms, along with horses and weapons, and threw them a hundred thousand yojanas into the sky. He looked like the demon Kalagni Rudra, holding the mouths of some elephants, the shoulders of others, and the chambers of others. 28-31 |
Lord Krishna, the protector of the universe, used his weapon, the Sudarshan Chakra, to protect the sages when both feet and hands of the demon caused great terror in that great battle and the army of Mahatma Krishna began to roar loudly. The sharp Sudarshana Chakra released from his hand was ignited by the radiant rays of the Pralaya-era Koti Surya. He cut off Shakuni's strong head in that great battle, just as Vajra had cut off Vritrasura's head. By then, Lord Krishna had forcefully thrown the Shakuni, who had died in the great ocean, into the sky. Then Shripati said to the Yadavas, "Keep throwing its body up and down with arrows. 32-35 |
Naradji says - Rajan! Hearing this, Srihariki, the all-Yadavite hero, fell from the sky and began to chastise the demon with dazzling arrows. The king! Injured by Deeptiman's arrows, the demon went up a hundred yojanas like a ball while watching the people. Then he went up a thousand yojanas after being struck by a sambake arrow. When he began to fall again from the sky, Arjuna struck him with his arrow. With that arrow, the demon king went up ten thousand yojanas. Then when he began to come down, Aniruddha's arrow flung him up a hundred yojanas. Pradyumna's arrow then lifted him a million yojanas. Then seeing him fall again from the sky, Lord Krishna, the Yogeshwara, shot an arrow at him, causing him to go up the Koti Yojana. Thus, for two hours, the demon remained in the sky, not allowing him to fall. 36-41 | (Vishwajitkhand Chapter 41 to 45)
Directly after that, Srihari shot another arrow at him. The banyan twisted it in all directions to the point of the koti, casting it into the sea as if the wind had blown down a lotus flower. The king! Thus, when the demon died, a bright light came out of his body and it went around and merged with Lord Krishna. At that moment, there was cheering on the ground and in the sky. Vidyadharis and Gandharvakanyas danced joyfully in the sky, Kinnar and Gandharva sang praises, and Siddha and Charan recited hymns. All the rishis and sages praised Srihariki profusely. The gods Brahma, Rudra, Indra, and Surya all came and showered flowers on Krishna. 42-47 |
Thus was completed the forty-first chapter, 'The Slaying of the Shakuni Daitya', in the Narada Bahulashva-Samvad under the Vishwajit Khanda in the Srigarghasamhita. 41.
