Devarshi Narada's Arrival from Brahmaloka; His Reception by King Ugrasena; Description of the Significance of Ashvamedha Yajna by Devarshi; Permission of Lord Krishna and Description of the Method of Ashvamedha Yajna by Naradji
Srigarji says - Rajan! Once upon a time, Devarshi Narada came from Brahmaloka to meet Balarama and Krishna, playing his veena and singing Sri Krishna's songs, and seeing all the people, came to the ground floor. He seemed to be as radiant as the Sun God. They were accompanied by Tumburu. The weight of the pink jathas was adding to the beauty of his head. His limbs were somewhat dark, his eyes as vast as the eyes of deer, the saffron tilak in Bhaldesh adorned. They were dressed in yellow dhoutavastra and silk pitambara. Devarshi, adorned with Rangavalliki garlands and Gopichandan, was highly decorated from the age of fifteen. 1-4 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 6 to 10)
King Ugrasena ascended the throne given to him by Devaraja at the Sudharma-sabha. When the sage saw him coming, he got up and stood up, bowed at his feet, and gave him the throne to sit on. Then his feet were cleansed and worshipped in the best manner, and King Ugrasena spoke to Narada, placing the Charanodaka on his head. 5 - 6.
Hearing this humble word of King Narada, the divine sage who looked as radiant as the gods, the heart was moved by Srihari and spoke to him. 9.
Narada said, "Yadvaraja! Your Majesty! Prithvi - Nath! Blessed are you; it is because of your devotion that Lord Krishna resides on this earth with Balramji. You had performed the ritual of Kratusreshtha Rajasuya Yajna in the past at my own behest, which was performed happily at Dwarkapuri by the grace of Lord Krishna. Your fame was spread in all the three worlds by the ritual of that sacrifice. Rajasuya and Ashvamedha - these two sacrifices are extremely difficult for the Chakravarti kings to perform. But Rajendra! You are a devout emperor; therefore, both are accessible to you. O Lord! You and King Yudhishthira have completed one of the two yajnas - the Rajasuya Yajna - at the behest of Lord Krishna. After Yudhishthira, no other king in India has performed the ritual of Yajñopravara Ashvamedha at the end of the Dwapara. That sacrifice is the destroyer of all sins and the giver of salvation. Dwijaghati, Vishwahanta, and Gohataryas are also purified by the Ashvamedha sacrifice; hence, Ashvamedha is said to be the best of all sacrifices. Oh dear Lord! One who performs the Ashwamedha Yajna ritual in a nonchalant manner goes to the supreme abode of Lord Garudadhvaja, which is also rare for Siddhas. 10-17 |
O Lord! Hearing this, King Ugrasena Yajñopravara of Devarshika contemplated the ritual of Ashwamedha. At the same time, King Ugrasena, seeing Lord Krishna approaching him along with Balarama, worshipped him and made him sit on a pedestal and said the following with Devarshi. 18-19 |
Ugrasena said, "Devadeva! Jagannath! Jagadeeswar! Awesome! Vasudeva! Trilokinath! Listen to me Green! My son Kansa, along with the big demons, has killed thousands of children without any crime. Govinda! How will that sinner be redeemed? Tell me where the hairdresser Kansa has been to. Jagadeeswar! I am also afraid of his sin. The sins of the son surely cause the father to go to hell. In the same way the sins of the father cause the son to fall into hell. So Madhava! Please tell me, what remedy shall I adopt for the salvation of Kansaka? O People of the World! Listen to what Narada ji has said today - 'The Brahma-killer, the world-killer and the cow-hunter are also purified by the ritual of Ashvamedha Yajna. 'I have taken my heart to that sacrifice. If you command, I will perform the ritual. 20-25 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 6 to 10)
Sri Gargaji says - Madan Mohan Bhagwan Shrikrishna was very happy to hear this from Ugrasena and seeing the earth suffering from weight started thinking like this "Ah! I have lifted the weight of the earth many times, yet that weight is still in the universe. It will be resolved by the Ashwamedha Yajna. On the occasion of Viduratha's slaying, I made a vow that 'I will no longer kill enemies on the battlefield with my hand.' For this reason, I myself will not go to war; but I will certainly send my sons and other Yaduvanshis to war. The Ashwamedha would be an excuse. I will try to conquer the whole earth under his guise. "The king. Mindful of this, Lord Krishna smiled and spoke to Ugrasena in the Sudharma Sabha. 26-30 |
Lord Krishna said, "Your Majesty! Kansa has been killed by my hand, so he has certainly gone to Vaikuntha Dham and resides there in a form similar to mine. Rajendra. You are also sinless by having darshan of Me daily, yet you must perform the ritual of Ashvamedha Yajna. Do not do it for the sake of salvation, but for the sake of expanding your glory. Bhopal! This sacrifice will spread your great glory on the earth's surface. 31-33 |
The king. At that time, King Ugrasena was very happy to hear this statement of Lord Krishna, who performed great deeds spontaneously, and spoke this excellent word. 34.
The king said, "Govindadeva." Now I will surely perform the best of the Ashvamedha rituals in the Yajnas and it will be completed soon by your grace. Now tell me in detail all the rituals of Ashvamedha. 35.
Hearing this statement of the king, Lord Krishna, who had extensive fame, said, 'Yadukulatilaka Maharaj! Ask Devarshi Narada the method of Ashvamedha Yajna. They know everything, so they will describe it to you. 'Rajan. Yaduraja Ugrasena was overjoyed when Sriharika heard this word. O Lord! He asked Devarshi, who was sitting in the assembly, as follows: "Devarshi! What should a horse look like in an Ashwamedha Yajna? What should be the number of best dice participating in it? The Brahman Tell me what kind of daksha is there and what kind of vrata my master should follow. " 36-39 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 6 to 10)
Hearing this from Ugrasena, Narada, a visionary god like the gods, smiled at Krishna with a loving gaze. 40.
Srinardji said, "Your Majesty! Men of wisdom say that a white horse, similar to the moon, should be used in this sacrifice. Her face is red, her tail is yellow, and she is beautiful, omnipresent, and divine. She must have dark ears and beautiful eyes. Nareshwar. The horse should be left to roam freely on the full moon day of the month of Chaitra. May the mighty warriors stay together for a year and protect that excellent horse. He must be protected diligently until he returns to his city. The host must be patient for as long as possible and strive to achieve their objective diligently. Wherever the horse urinates and urinates, a havan should be performed by Brahmins and a thousand cows should be donated. On the gold plate, you shall write your name and the sign of the order, and bind it in the horse's loins, and proclaim in various places: 'Hear, all you kings, I have released this horse.' If a king grabs my dark horse with pride and force, he will be defeated by force. 'Narendra! At the beginning of this yajna, it is prescribed to describe twenty thousand Brahmins who are scholars of the Vedas, philosophers of the entire scriptures, noblemen, and ascetics. 41-48 |
Now let me tell you about the dakshina that is offered in this yajna. You are capable, so listen. Your Majesty! In the Ashvamedha Yajna, the long dakshina of the Brahmins is as follows - each Dwija should be given one thousand horses, one hundred elephants, two hundred chariots, one thousand cows each, and twenty loads of gold. This is the daksha of the beginning of the yajna. The same amount of dakshina should be given at the end of the yajna. One should sleep together on the ground floor with one's wife at night with celibacy following the rules of Asipatra-Vrata. Your Majesty It is necessary to observe such a fast for a year. Poor people should be given food and lots of money. Rajendra! With this method, the yajna will be completed. This yajna, when accompanied by the Asipatra-vrata, is to bestow the majority of the son-like fruits. Without Bhishma, who else is a human being who can conquer Kamadeva? Therefore, people with a cowardly heart do not follow this difficult and wonderful fast. Oh dear Lord! If you have the power to win over Kamadeva, then you should call Gargacharya and start the Yajna. 49-56 |
Thus was completed the seventh chapter called 'Yajna-related industry description' in the Ashvamedha Khanda under the Srigargha Samhita. 7.
