English translation
Uddhav said, "Rajan! Offer a sacrifice (bali) to Maharaja Ugrasena. They will conquer all the kings and perform the Rajasuya Yajna. 6 | (Vishwajitkhand chapter 6 to 10)
Shrinaradji says - Mithileshwar! Hearing this statement of Udhavji, Shishupala, the wicked son of Damghosa, began to gnaw at his lips. He was very angry and immediately said this in the court. 7.
The babysitter said, "Oh! The speed of time is infinite. How strange is this world! Kalatma Vidhata's Prajapati has also been embroiled in discord or controversy (that is, the Loka Vidhata Brahma and the pot-maker Kumbakara are at loggerheads over who Prajapati is). Where is the swan and where is the crow! Where is the pundit and where is the fool! The servants wish for the Chakravarti king to win over his lord. The curse of King Yayati has corrupted the Yaduvanshi kingdom; but they have risen from a small kingdom, as small rivers, having a little water, begin to overflow. The lowly who becomes a king, the fool's son who becomes a scholar, or the ever-poor who at some point finds wealth, is filled with pride and begins to regard the whole world as grass. For how many days has Ugrasena attained the status of a king? Vasudeva has become the minister and Ugrasena has become the king by virtue of him and worshipped only by him. His minister Vasudeva, fearing Jarasandha, has fled and taken refuge in the sea, leaving behind his Puri Mathura. He was earlier also called the son of Ahirka named 'Nanda'. Vasudeva abandons Lajahaya and begins to regard him as his son. Vasudeva is white, how did he become black and black? Not only the father, the paternal grandfather is also white. May this Vasudeva be counted among the progeny of his clan, it is a matter of great sorrow and laughter. I will conquer his son Pradyumna with the Yadavas and the army and ascend to Kushasthali to make the earth zero with the Yadavas. 8-16 |
Srinardji says - Rajan! Having said this, Chediraja asked Shishupala to go to war with two arrows full of bows and arrows. 17.
Damghosh said, "Son! Listen to what I have to say. Don't get angry, don't do it. The one who does an act suddenly does not attain siddhi. There is no other means of dharma, artha, kama, and moksha like Kshama. Therefore, one should act with equanimity. There is no other way to be as happy as Sam. Charity leads to prosperity and hospitality leads to prosperity. A gesture of hospitality is also a virtue if it is done by seeing the meritorious quality. Yadav and Chedip are considered related; therefore, I really want that there should be no quarrel between Yadavs and Chedip. 18-21 | (Vishwajitkhand chapter 6 to 10)
Shishupal was inconsolable and did not say anything even after being explained by the wise Damghosh, says Shrinardji. He sat in silence with a heavy heart. The king! Srutishrava, the queen of Chediraja, was the sister of Sooranandana Vasudeva. She came to her son Shishupala and spoke politely. 22-23 |
Shrutishravan said, "Son! Don't be sorry. There should never be any quarrel between the Yadavas and the Chedipas. Surananda Vasudeva is your maternal uncle and his son Krishna is also your brother. His hundreds of great sons, such as Pradyumna, are well-deserved and well-received by me and you. It would not be appropriate to wage a war with them. That's it! I will go with you in a spirit of self-indulgence to receive those assembled Yadavas. I've had the urge to see them all for a long time. I will bring them home with great festivity and enthusiasm. Such an opportunity will never come again. 24-26 |
Shishupala said, "Balarama, Krishna, and all the Yadavas are my enemies. I will also cause all who have despised me to perish by my soldiers. In the past, in Kundinapur, both brothers, Rama and Krishna, defied me and stopped my marriage; therefore, they are not my brothers but enemies. If you both (being my parents) support the Yadavas, I will tie both your parents with strong shackles and put them in jail like Kansa imprisoned his parents. Otherwise I will slay you both, my oath or pledge is very harsh (it is difficult to avoid it). 27-30 |
Chediraj fell silent on hearing Shishupala's harsh words, says Srinardji. Uddhavji returned to his army and narrated everything that Shishupala had said there. Subsequently, four types of Sishupala's armies - Vahini, Dhvajini, Pratna, and Akshauhini - were equipped. 31-32 |
Bahulashva asked, "O Lord! Tell me the number of the army, including the vahini, for the sage knows all three tenses - past, present, and future. 33 | (Vishwajitkhand chapter 6 to 10)
Srinardji said, "Rajan! A hundred elephants, eleven hundred chariots, ten thousand horses, and a hundred thousand foot - this is the hallmark of the 'army'. This is called the "Chaturangini" of a double army. Scholars have referred to an army consisting of four hundred elephants, ten thousand chariots, four hundred thousand horses, and ten million foot soldiers in iron armour and armed with powerful wagons. The double army is named "Dhvajini" after the battalion. Double the flag is considered to be a 'pratna' by scholars of the earlier era. The double army from Pratnasa is said to be 'Akshauhini'. The one who is a brave hero is called a "Shura." The one who protects a hundred knights is called a "Samanta." The one who protects a hundred feudal lords in battle is called a 'Gaji' (or Gajarohi) warrior. The one who can protect the chariot with chariots and horses in the battlefield is called a 'Rathi'. The one who protects the army with his arrows is called Maharathi. He who is able to fight the Aksauhini army on the battlefield while defending his army and annihilating enemies has always been considered an 'Atithi'. 34-41 |
