The Anecdote of King Marutta

Namo Bhagwat, you are a witness to Vasudeva. Pradyumrayaniruddhaya Namah Sankarshanaya Ch. 1. Salutations to God, the omniscient Vasudeva, Sankarshana, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha-Chatuyuha, who dwells in the hearts of all. 1.

Ignorance Ignorance is the process of acquiring knowledge. Yen Tasami Srigurave Namah in the form of an eye. 2. I was getting blinded by night blindness in the form of ignorance. I pay my obeisance to Sri Gurudev, who has opened my divine vision with the grace of enlightenment. 2.

Mr. Gargji said, "Munne! Thus I have narrated to you the character of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, who is the Giver of Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha, the four Purusharths, to mankind. What else do you want to hear now? . 3.

Shaunaka said, "Tapodhana! Tell me what Maithilaraja Bahulashvana, a beloved devotee of Lord Krishna and deeply in love with Srihari, then asked Devarshi Narada. 4. Mr. Gargji said, "Munne! Mithilanaresh Bahulashwa was amazed to hear that Lord Krishna (an incarnation of Marutka) made Ugrasena the king of the Yadavas. He asked a question to Narada. 5.

Bahulashva said - Devarshe. Who were these marutas? By what virtue did he become King Ugrasena of the Yaduvanshis on the earth? The glory of those who were assisted by Lord Krishna himself is remarkable. Devarshi - Your Majesty! What was their significance? Tell me about it. 6 - 7.

Srinardji said, "Rajan! The Suryavanshi king Marutta Chakravarti was the emperor in the Satya Yuga. He had ritually performed the Vishwajit-yajna ritual. He was initiated into yajna in the northern part of the Himalayas by collecting a large amount of material and making Munishreshtha Samvarta the acharya. His yajna consisted of five yojana expansive kundas. There was a Brahmakunda of one plan and five more kunds of two plans each. According to the extent of the trough of the tank, ten niches were formed from the altars. The pillar that was built in that Yajñāmandapa was a thousand cubits high. That great altar was of great splendor. It had a golden yajna mandapa built in it, which was twenty yajnas in size. From the Chandavas, Bandhanavaras, and Kadalikhandas was the Yajna Mandapa. In that yajna, the gods Brahma and Rudra, along with their Ganas, were present. All the sages and sages themselves had come to that yajna. In that yajna, one million would have been different - one million initiated, five hundred thousand adhvaryu, and udgata. There were called the learned Brahmins of the four Vedas, who knew the meaning of the entire scriptures. Millions more Brahmins were worshipped there. In that yajna, offerings were made of thick ghee-streams resembling the trunk of an elephant, which the fire god consumed, leading to indigestion. Mithileshwar! Don't think it's strange for that sacrifice to happen. 8-16 | (Vishwajitkhand chapter 1 to 5)

At that yajna, the Vishvadevas were in the assembly. They performed the pariveshana (serving) of the bhaga for those for whom it was necessary to give the bhaga, the marudgana itself. At the time of that sacrifice, there were no living beings in the Triloki who had gone hungry. The entire pantheon was filled with indigestion as they drank laziness. The host king Marutta granted the kingdom of Jambudvipa to Acharya Samvarta in that sacrifice. Apart from this, fourteen lakh elephants, fourteen lakh loads of gold, a hundred Arabian horses, and nine crore precious stones were also given to Mahatma Acharya as offerings at the Yajnanta. To each Brahmin, he presented five thousand horses, a hundred elephants, and a hundred sovereigns of gold. The water-pot and the food-pot were all made of gold, which looked very vibrant. After they had eaten, all the Brahmins left satisfied. From the discarded gold vessels of the Brahmins, a golden mountain of a hundred yojanas was formed on the side of the Himalayas, which can still be seen today. 17-23 |

No other king has ever had a sacrifice like that of King Marutka. Rajendra! Listen, such a yajna has not been performed in Triloki or not. In that Yajna Kund, Lord Krishna, the Supreme Being, appeared and made Mahatma King Marutta see his form. Having darshan of Sriharika, bowing at his feet, King Marutta stood with both hands joined; unable to speak. Their bodies swelled with excitement and they fell in love. Seeing the loving king thus bowed at his feet, Lord Krishna spoke in a profound voice like a cloud. 24-27 |

The Lord said, "O King! You have satisfied me with your humility. I have been worshipped through the best of sacrifices performed with sincerity. Excellency! You ask me for a better groom. I will give you a boon that is rare even to the gods of heaven. 28.

Says Srinardji - Rajan. King Marutta, after hearing the above-mentioned word of God, circumambulated with folded hands, worshipped that God Harika with utmost devotion through vivid treatment and bowed down and spoke in a very eloquent voice. 29.

Marutta said - Sri Purushottamottam! I do not know of any better groom than you. Like when thirsty, wise men dig wells to quench their thirst even when they reach the banks of the Ganges (similarly, to wish for someone else after finding your footprints is to introduce foolishness), but O Vrajeshwara! To keep the glory of your commandments, I ask that your feet never depart from the lotus in my heart, for it is said to be the source of all four pursuits and wealth. 30-31 |

The Lord said, "O king! Blessed are your pure souls. Even when you have been lured with boons, no desire has arisen in your intellect. Yet ask me for a desired boon; for without making the devotee happy by giving fruits, I do not attain happiness. 32.

Marutta said, "O Lord! If I have to give the desired boon, then establish Vaikuntha Loka on this earthly floor and be devout! May I dwell in the same puram with the best of devotees and may you protect me. 33. (Vishwajitkhand chapter 1 to 5)

The Lord said, "O King! Until the twenty-eighth age of Manavantara passes, you will enjoy the bliss of heaven and come to earth with me in the twenty-eighth hour and make the sea of your mind like the dust of a cow. That is, at that time, all your desires will be fulfilled spontaneously. 34.

Shrinaradji says - Mithileshwar! Saying this, Lord Krishna disappeared right there. It was he who became King Marutta Ugrasena. Srihari himself performed the Rajasuya Yajna on him. Maithileshwar! What is an object in the Triloki that is rare to devotees of the Lord? Well done! A person who listens to this character of Marutka attains knowledge of devotion and renunciation. 35-37 |

Thus was completed the first chapter called 'Srimrutaka Upakhyan' in the Shrinarada Bahulashva-Samvadam under Vishvajitkhanda in the Srigarghasamhita. 1.
