Lord Shiva's coming to the battlefield from Balwali with his Ganas and the fierce battle of Shivganas and Yadavas: Deeptiman's slaying of Shivganas and Aniruddha's enchantment of Bhairava with the Janmabhastra
Vajranabha asked, "Brahman! Why did the merciful Lord Shiva not help Kunandan when he was killed and Balvala was mauled in the battlefield? Why didn't Lord Shiva come there? How did the giants let go of the horse? And how was the yajna accomplished? Please tell me all these things in detail. 1-2.
Sauti says - Brahman! Hearing this question from Vajranabha, Gargaji, the best of the wise, recalled the entire story and spoke to the Yadava queen. 3.
Srigarghji said, "O king! When Balwa became mute and the knight Kunandan was killed, Lord Shiva, inspired by the sage Narada, became very angry. O Lord! May Lord Shiva, the protector of the devotees, incline wrathfully upon the Nandi, bear the Chandralekha within the Jatajuta on his forehead, adorned with garlands of snakes and a headdress, the ashes come in a fierce form in all the limbs. Rudradeva, with ten arms, five faces, and fifteen eyes, appeared to be drunk and frightened, dressed in lion's skin. In their hands adorned were tridents, pattis, bows, arrows, axes, spears, spears, and bhandipals. They were as bright as a thousand suns and covered with all the ghosts. He came with great haste from Kailasa, shaking the earth, to slay all the best of the Vrishnivamsi heroes like Aniruddha on the battlefield. 4 - 9.
Nareshwar. At that time, there was a great commotion in the sky and on the ground. The gods, the demons, and the humans were all amazed and terrified. The Yadavas were horrified to see Pralayankar Shankar with his entire clan and family in a fit of rage. Aniruddha's face turned pale with fear. On the battlefield, they were sad and their hearts trembled. At that time, Girish, filled with anger, took the trident in his hands and said this cruel thing to all the Yadavas. 10-13 |
Shankar said, "Where has Aniruddha gone and where has Sunandan gone?" Where did Samba and Adi Yadava go after killing my devotee Kunandan? Where will the Vrishnivamsi, my devotees, go by moustacheing the daitya Shiromani Balvala and killing his servants in battle? I will slay all these enemies of my devotees on the battlefield. I, Vishnu, and Brahma - they all protect the devotees from danger. 14-16 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 36 to 40)
Srigarji says - Rajan. Having said this, Rudra sent Bhairava to Aniruddha and said - "Shura! You go to the battlefield to fight the victorious Pradyumna Kumar Aniruddha. He then angrily sent Nandi to fight Sunandana, inspired Virabhadra to take up arms with Gad, and Mayuravahana Kartikeya to fight Samba. That Virupaksha Shiva ordered Bhringi to fight Bhanu and sent demons and ghosts to fight other Yadava soldiers. At the behest of Lord Rudra, he came into battle with ghosts, ghosts, Vinayakas, Bhairavas, Pramathas, Vetals, Brahmarakshasas, Manias, and Kushmandas in millions. The ghosts began to kill the Yadavas with embers. Vinayaka began to strike with sticks, Bhairava with spears, and Pramatha with clubs. The Brahmarakshas caught and ate humans and horses. Yudhishthira would chew human heads in the battlefield and drink blood drawn from bare skulls. The vampires danced and sang ghost songs there. They would repeatedly throw the heads of the warriors around like a ball. They were seen running around and chewing on elephants and charioteers in the arena. Vampires and witchcraft would wipe the eyes of their children on the battlefield, offering them blood and saying, "Don't cry." Mania and Kushmanda would prepare garlands of the heads of the departed knights and offer them to Lord Shankar. 17-27 |
Oh dear God! At that time, the Yadava army was in disarray. Thousands of horses, elephants, and foot-soldiers fell to their deaths on the battlefield while fleeing in fear. Seeing such strength of the Shiva Ganas, Sri Krishna-Kumara Deepti Mana began to release the most marvellous arrows on his bow. The king! Those sharp arrows started penetrating the bodies of ghosts, ghosts, and Vinayakas in the same manner as peacocks enter the forest. The entire group of ghosts began to flee, scattered by the arrows. Some fell on the battlefield and some died. Many of the arrows crashed before they could be hit. 28-32 |
Bhairava was filled with fury when the demons fled. They arrived as if on a dog, with tridents in their hands. Nareshwar. Seeing Bhairav all that time, no one was willing to fight him. Only Aniruddha went to war with them. Aniruddha shot five arrows at Bhairav on the battlefield. Bhairava also crushed their chariot, Uttama, with a stroke from the periphery. Aniruddha then mounted another chariot, mounted his sturdy bow, and wounded the elusive Bhairava in the battlefield with ten varnos. Injured by the arrows, Bhairav fainted a little. He then threw the three-pointed trident, lit like fire, at Aniruddha. When Pradyumna Kumar saw the bull coming, he cut it into pieces with his arrows. Seeing his trident torn apart, the mighty Rudrakumar Bhairav created Agni with his mouth through Maya. The fire started to burn the land, the trees, and all ten directions. The bodies of foot-soldiers, charioteers, horses, and elephants began to burn like fine floral Semarki cotton. Many heroes were engulfed in flames and many were burnt to ashes. The whole army was engulfed in flames. Many warriors started thinking of Lord Krishna. 33-41 |
Aniruddha, the best of the archers, upon seeing the terror of his army and knowing the illusion created by Bhairava, placed an arrow on his bow. The psychic was captivated by the rainbow and soon released into the sky while contemplating the footsteps of Lord Krishna. 42-43 | (Ashwamedh Khand Chapter 36 to 40)
The king! As soon as the arrow came out, the clouds appeared and started pouring water. The fire was put out and it seemed as if the rainy season had arrived. Peacocks, cuckoos, squirrels, storks, and frogs etc. began to speak. Here and there, the Indragopas (insects called Veerabahuti) began to flourish. The sky was illuminated by rainbows and lightning. Seeing his efforts in vain, Bhairav roared Bhairav with his mouth. This left everyone heartbroken. The sound of Bhairav echoed through the entire universe, including all the worlds and the underworld. The giants were distracted, the stars began to break apart, and the landmass shone with them. At the same time, all the humans became deaf and fell. 44-48 |
Then Bhairava, adorned with serpents, grasped his hands in anger, chewed his lips with his teeth, clenched his tongue, and looked at Yadukula-Tilaka Aniruddha with red eyes, assuming Aniruddha was like a spade, and took a sharp edge in his hand. At the same time, Aniruddha, skilled in strategy, charmed Bhairava using the Janmabhastra in the same way that Lord Krishna had charmed Lord Shankar on the occasion of Banasura-Vijaya. The king! On seeing Aniruddha under the influence of that weapon, Bhairava fell on the battlefield and started enjoying his sleep while jumping. 49-52 |
Thus the thirty-seventh chapter, Bhairava-Mohan, was completed in the Ashvamedha Khanda under the Srigargha Samhita. 37.
