Introduction to the former birth of Dhobi, the tailor and Sudama Mali
Bahulashva asked - "Devarshe! I heard the pious character of Lord Krishna through your mouth, but I want to hear more and more again. Just as the thirsty creature desires water, my mind desires to hear the character of Krishna today. You described the births and karmas of Kansa and I listened. I also heard stories about the past lives of giants like Keshi. Now I want to know that Ah! Who was the Dhobi in his previous life whose great light was absorbed into Krishna? And why did Srihari kill him? . 1-3.
Narada said, "Vidyaharaja! As far back as the Treta Yuga, Ayodhyapuri was ruled by Sriramchandraji. During his reign, spies travelled to know the mood and happiness of the subjects. One day, while listening to the spies, a washerman said to his wife, 'You are wicked and have come to live in someone else's house; therefore, I will not keep you anymore.' May the greedy king of women keep Rama and Sita, but I will not accept you. Thus, hearing the reproach of many, Sri Raghavendra, fearing populism, suddenly abandoned Sita in the forest. Raghukul-Tilak Sriram did not wish to punish the washerman. At the end of the same Dwapara, there was again a wash in Mathurapuri. Srihari himself killed Sita for the blasphemy that she had said to him, however, Sri Karunanidhi granted salvation to the washerman. The king! I told you this most wonderful character of the kind Sri Krishna Chandra. What do you want to hear again now? . 4 - 9.
Bahulashva asked, "Munishreshtha! Who was the tailor in the previous life, to whom Lord Krishna bestowed his likeness? . 10.
Srinardji said - Rajan. Earlier, there was a tailor in Mithila-puri, who had a devotion to Lord Srihari. He had at the time of Sri Rama's marriage, at the behest of King Seeradhvaja Janaka, sewn clothes with fine threads for the bridal attire of Sri Rama and Lakshmana. He was very skilled in the art of weaving. The king! The great tailor was fascinated by the beautiful Shriram and Lakshmana, who were as graceful as the millions of Kamadevas. He wished with all his heart that I should wear clothes on their limbs with my own hands sometime. Shriraghunathji is omniscient. He willingly blessed him, saying, 'At the end of Dwapara, your desire will be fulfilled in the Indian Vraja Mandala.' This tailor was manifested in Madhura by the boon of Shriramchandraji, who got the likeness of the two brothers by creating their costumes. 11-16 | (Mathurukund Chapter 6 to 10)
Bahulashva asked, "Brahman! What virtue did Sudama Mali, in whose house Param Manohar Balarama and Sri Krishna himself had visited, perform? Tell me 17.
Narada said, "O king! Rajaraja Kubera has an extremely picturesque forest, famous as Chaitra Ratha-Vanaka. There was a gardener who planted flowers in it, who was called Hemmalike. He was prompt, calm, charitable, and a great companion in the hymns of Lord Vishnu. He worshipped the gods for the attainment of Lord Krishna. Every day for five thousand years, he would take three hundred lotus flowers and place them in front of Lord Shankar and pay obeisance to him. Once upon a time, Lord Shankara, Karunanidhi's three-eyed god, was very pleased with him and said, 'The most intelligent Malakar. Ask for the bridegroom as you wish. 'Then Hem-Mali, with folded hands, saluted Mahadevji and, after circumambulating, stood before him, bowing his head. 18-22 |
Hemmali said, "Oh my God! May the most perfect Lord Shri Krishna ever come to my house and I may have a direct darshan of him with these eyes. May this wish of mine be fulfilled by Your grace. 23.
Srimahadevji said, "O Lord! There is no doubt that your mission will be successful in Mathurapuri, India, at the end of Dwapara. 24 | (Mathurukund Chapter 6 to 10)
Naradji says - Rajan! It was Mahamana Hemamali, blessed by Mahadevji, who became Sudama Mali at the end of Dwapara. That is why Balarama and Krishna had directly come to Lord Shiva's house to fulfill his wish. What else do you want to hear now? . 25-26 |
Thus was completed the tenth chapter of the Narada Bahulashva-Samvad under the Srimathurakhanda in the Srigarghasamhita titled 'Dhobi, Darji and Sudama Malika Upakhyan'. 10.
