Description of the antecedents of Kubja and Kuvalayapida

Sri Bahulashvana asked - "Devarshe! What extreme penance did Sairandhri perform in the past, which endeared him to Lord Krishna, a very rare god even to the gods? . 1.

Narada said, "O king! The demoness Surpanakha was extremely enchanted by the sight of Shri Ramachandraji when he lived in Panchavati, who was as beautiful as the millions of Kamadevas. Ravana's sister ran to eat Sita in anger, thinking, "Shriraghunathji is keen on monogamy, so he is not attracted to any other woman." At that time, Sri Rama's younger brother Lakshmana, in a fit of rage, cut off his nose and ears immediately with a sharp-edged sword. After her nose was cut off, she went to Lanka and told Ravana all this news, and in a very sad state of mind, she went to Pushkar Tirtha. There, standing in the water, Shurpanakhana meditated on Lord Shankar and meditated for ten thousand years, wishing to find Shri Rama in the form of a husband. Pleased with this, Devadhidev Bhagwan Umapati came to Pushkar-Tirtha and said - 'Ask for a boon.' 2 - 7.

Surpanakha said, "O supreme God! You are capable of fulfilling all desires; therefore, grant me this boon that Shriramchandraji, the beloved of the virtuous, is my husband. 8.

Shiva said, "O demon! Listen. This groom will not be successful for you just yet. There is no doubt that your wish will be fulfilled in Mathura-Puri at the end of Dwapara. 9.

Naradji says - Rajan. The great A demoness named Surpanakha, who assumed the same form at will, became famous in Srimathurapuri as' Kubja '. She fell in love with Lord Krishna at the same time as Mahadevji. I told you about this incident. What else do you want to hear now? . 10-11 | (Mathurukund Chapter 11 to 15)

Bahulashva said, "Naradaji! Who was this Kuvalayapida in a previous life? How was the elephant's yoniko obtained? And by what virtue did the Lord merge with Krishna? . 12.

Naradji said that King Bali had a large and powerful son named Mandagati. He was the best of all the armed men and as strong as a hundred thousand elephants. At one point, he left home for a visit to Sriranganatha and joined the community. People were being trampled by shaking arms at a speed similar to that of a slow-moving elephant. On the way, old Trita Muni fell with the speed of his arms. Angered, they cursed the mighty scapegoat of that religion. 13-15 |

The Trinity said, "Wretched! You are getting drunk like an elephant and crushing people in a procession, so be an elephant. 'So when he was cursed, the mighty demon slowed down and fell, his body like earthworms. The daitya, who knew the influence of the sage, immediately bowed and circumambulated with folded hands and said to the sage Trita. 16-18 |

Slowly, he said, "O Munna! Oh my goodness! You are the best of the two yogindras. Tell me quickly when I'll be able to get rid of this vagina. Oh no! From today onwards, I will never disregard the greats like you. O Brahman! A sage like you is capable of bestowing both a boon and a curse. 19-20 |

Naradji says - Rajan! Thus appeased by the demon, the wrath of Mahamuni Trita dissipated. Then the benevolent Brahmin-Shiromani said to the demon. 21.

The Trinity said, "King of demons! I cannot be false, yet I am exceedingly pleased with your devotion. Therefore, I will grant you a divine boon, which is rare even for the gods. The Daitya Kendra. Do not grieve. There is no doubt that you will be liberated from the hands of Lord Krishna in the city of Mathura, Srihariki. 22-23 | (Mathurukhand Chapter 11 to 15)

Naradji says - Rajan! The same slow-moving giant on the Vindhya mountains became the elephant known as Kuvalayapida, which alone was as strong as ten thousand elephants. He was captured by Magadharaja Jarasandha with a hundred thousand elephants in the forest. Woe to you! He then gave the elephant to Kansa as a dowry. According to sage Trita, his energy was absorbed into Krishna. I told you this, what else do you want to hear? . 24-26 |

Thus was completed the eleventh chapter in the Narada Bahulashva-Samvada under Srimathurakhanda in the Srigarghasamhita, titled 'Description of the Past Births of Kubja and Kuvalayapida'. 11.
