English translation
Jarasandha's invasion of Mathura with a large army; the annihilation of his army by Krishna and Balarama; the defeat of Magadhara king and Krishna-Balarama's victorious return to Mathura
Krishnaya Vasudevaya Devkinandanaya Ch. Nandagopakumaraya Govindaya Namo Namah. 1. Recurring salutations are offered to Govinda, the son of Vasudeva and the son of Devakinandan as well as the son of Nandagop. 1.
Bahulashva asked, "Brahman! I heard the wonderful story of Mathura Khand from your mouth. Now tell me Dwarka Khand, complete with Sri Krishna-Charitamrita. How many marriages, how many sons and how many grandsons did Shri Rama Vallabha Krishna have? Excellency! What is the reason for them to leave Mathura and settle in Dwarkama? Tell me all about it. 2-3.
Srinardaji said, "Maithileshwar! When Mahabali Kansa was killed, he had two queens and Parvati went to Jarasandha's house with great sorrow. Hearing of Kansa's death from his mouth, Jaraputra Mahabali Jarasandha, in a fit of rage, set out to make this surface void from the Yaduvanshis. The king! The mighty king attacked Mathurapuri with an army of twenty-three Akshauhins. Seeing his army roaring like an ocean and his city troubled by fear, the Lord spoke directly to Baldevji in the assembly. 4-7 | (Dwarkand Chapter 1 to 5)
'Bhaiya Balramji! All the army of this Magadhar king Jarasandhika must undoubtedly be destroyed, but this Magadhanresh must not be killed, so that it undertakes to raise an army again. I will take all the burdens from the earth, which is in the form of kings of the earth, for the sake of Jarasandha, and I will take all the burdens from here, and I will love the meek men. 8 - 9.
The king! Lord Krishna was speaking in such a way that two beautiful chariots came down from Vaikuntha in front of everyone. Instantly mounted on those chariots, Mahabali Balarama and Krishna marched out of the city with a small army of Yaduvanshis. On the ground floor, the Yadavas and Magadhas engaged in a spectacularly thrilling and fierce battle while watching the gods in the sky. First, Mahabali mounted on a chariot of Magadharaja and fought in front of Lord Krishna with an army of ten Akshauhins. Duryodhana, the son of Dhritarashtra, came with an army of five Akshauhins to assist Jarasandhi and started fighting the Yadavas. The king! The mighty king of Vindhya with five Akshauhini armies and the Mahabali king of Bengal with three Akshauhini armies joined the war on the Indo-Greek side. Mithileshwar! Similarly, the other kings who were subordinate to Jarasandha were also assisting him wholeheartedly. 10-16 |
As the darkness of the arrows spread in the sky surrounded by the enemy army, Lord Krishna began to sound the trumpet of his rainbow. From that crescendo, the whole universe, including the seven worlds and the seven underworlds, echoed, the giants were distracted, the stars began to break apart, and the entire cosmos began to shake. The whole army of the enemy was deafened at that moment, the horses began to flee from the battlefield, and the elephants also turned their faces away. The whole army fled in terror from the tank and came back two kos in the opposite direction. Thus, by spreading a yellow lightning-bolt and a twinkling rainbow, Srihari covered the entire army of the Jarasandhis with the rain of his arrows. 17-21 |
The king! The enemy army's chariots were crushed by the arrows of the Shangdhanwa, the wheels fell apart, and the chariot and charioteer were also killed and fell asleep on the ground forever. The elephants that accompanied the Gajarohis were cut in two by their arrows. The horses, including the riders, were crushed by the cutting of their necks by arrows. Similarly, in that great war, foot soldiers were crushed by the breaking of the thorax and the head. The scaffolding of their armor was blown away. They undoubtedly went to the gallows of time. The king! Just as the broken vessels appeared to lie face down and face up, so the princes whose bodies had been cut down lay face up and face down in the courtyard. In an instant, a hundred kos long river of blood flowed in the battlefield, which was extremely inaccessible. The elephant looked like a customer in it. Camels and donkeys seemed to have the same trunk as tortoises. The chariots created the illusion of children (Susas), the hair of servants, and the severed arms of serpents. The hands looked like fish and the jewels of crowns, necklaces and kundals were pebbles. The weapons appeared to be oars, umbrella conch shells and leather, and flagstaff sand. The wheels of the chariot were creating a whirlwind of confusion, and the armies on both sides were on both sides of that bloodline. In this way, it became as fierce as the Vaitarani, a hundred-yoga-wide river. The Pramathas, Bhairavas, Bhootas, Vetals, and Yoginis danced merrily in the battlefield. Nripesvara. He was constantly drinking blood from the skulls of ghosts and spirits and collecting severed headgear to make the headgear of Lord Shankar. Surrounded by hundreds of witches, Bhadrakali started laughing and drinking the hot blood there. Vidyadharis, heavenly Gandharvakanyas, and apsaras were standing in Kshatriya dharma and worshipping God-like heroes who attained martyrdom as their husbands. They quarreled among themselves to capture the heroes in the sky and make them husbands. They would say, 'These are my likenesses, so I will describe them.' 'Surbala, thus attached to them, had come to a mutual dispute. Some pious heroes, not deviating a bit from the battlefield, penetrated the Martand-mandala and went directly to the divine abode of Lord Vishnu. Baldevji, who held the rest of the army's triumvirate, became enraged and started beating them with clubs. Thus, Duryodhana, Vindhyaraja, and Vanganaresa fled the battlefield in terror after the Jarasandhika army was annihilated on all sides. 22-37 | (Dwarkand Chapter 1 to 5)
The king! Then the mighty Jarasandha, as strong as ten thousand elephants, came before Baldevji on a chariot. Yadu Shrestha Balarama pulled the beautiful chariot of Jarasandha from the halagraha and crushed it with a musket wound. Jarasandha, who was left without a chariot when the horses and charioteers were killed, gave up all his weapons and captured Baldev with both hands. Then a fierce battle ensued between the two of them on the battlefield. Maithil! Seeing the gods standing in the sky and the humans on the ground, they both fought like two lions in a fierce wrestling match. They would try to knock each other down by holding separate legs, hitting them with the chest, head, and arms. The battle between the two turned the entire landmass into a crater. The king! At that moment, the ground suddenly shook like a baton for two hours. Then Yadushreshtha Balarama, holding Jarasandha with his forearms, struck the earth as if a child had knocked down the kamandalu. Balarama climbed on top of Jarasandha and took a fierce hand full of fury to slay the enemy. Seeing this, Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, stopped them immediately. Then Yadukula-Tilaka Balarama left him. Embarrassed, Jarasandha considered going for penance, but at the insistence of his chief ministers, Magadhara did not go for penance and returned to Magadha. Thus Madhusudana Madhava conquered Jarasandha. 38-48 |
With all the wealth and wealth that was lost in the war, they entered Mathurapuri, carrying with them the pleasant splendor, advancing on the Yadavas, listening to the victory songs of the most upright Lord Krishna, including Baldev, from the sutras, magadhas, and Vandijans, accompanied by the sound of conch shells, the sound of drumming, and the loud chanting of Veda mantras. They were worshipped with auspicious objects, flowers, and flowers along the way. Seeing the splendor of Puri adorned with Mangal-Kalash at each gate, Pitambardhari, Shyamsundara Vigraha, Shubhang-Subhagit, illuminated with bright crowns, angads, and kundals, accompanied by Lord Garudadhvaja, Taladhvaja Balarama, who was wearing weapons like sashang, went to King Ugrasena, spreading a smile on his face, and presented him with all the treasures. At that time, his chariot, studded with agile horses, was in full swing, and the gods were worshipping and praising him. 49-53 |
Thus was completed the first chapter of the Narada Bahulashva-Samvada under the Sridharvakakanda in the Srigarghasamhita, titled "Jarasandha Harana." 1.
