Ascribed to Vyāsa and preserved as a khila, an appendix to the Mahābhārata, the Harivaṃśa is the earliest full Sanskrit biography of Kṛṣṇa. It is the one scripture Sant Jñāneśvar names by title in the Haripāṭh.
