श्रुत्वा तु वचनं देवी कृष्णेनोदाहृतं तदा । प्रहर्षम् अतुलं लेभे रुक्मिणी वाक्यम् अब्रवीत् । अहो धन्यतरास्मीति वीरपुत्रसमागमात् । अद्य मे सफलः कामः पूर्णश् चाद्य मनोरथः । चिरप्रनष्टपुत्रस्य दर्शनं प्रियया सह ॥

Hearing Kṛṣṇa's word, the goddess Rukmiṇī gained unmatched joy and said: 'I am most blessed by meeting my hero-son. Today my desire is fulfilled; today my mind's-chariot is full. A son long lost is seen with the beloved (his wife).'
The Living Words
*Praharṣam atulam*, 'unmatched joy'. *Dhanyatarāsmi*, 'I am most blessed'. *Saphalaḥ kāmaḥ*, 'my desire is fulfilled'. *Pūrṇaḥ manorathaḥ*, 'my mind-chariot is full (completed)'. *Cira-praṇaṣṭa-putrasya darśanaṃ priyayā saha*: 'the seeing of the long-lost son together with the beloved.' The verse holds three joys in sequence: the unmatched joy, the fulfilled desire, and the specific joy of seeing her son with his wife.
The Heart of It
The verse is one of the tenderest mother-scenes in the Harivaṃśa. What is striking is that Rukmiṇī's joy is not simply about the return; it is about seeing her son with another person (his wife), entering together. Her joy is not reclaiming but welcoming-in. The Varkari tradition's love of familial devotion, where the god is seen in his household-with-family (Vitthal and Rukmiṇī together at Pandharpur), is rooted in this verse. Reunion is not a private return; it is a new household.
