द्वादशो’ध्यायः सायाह्ने वासुदेवꣳ यो नित्यम् एव यजेन् नरः । सर्वान् कामान् अवाप्यान्ते स याति परमाꣳ गतिम् ॥१॥ रात्रौ चेन् मन्मथाक्रान्त-मानसꣳ देवकी-सुतम् । यजेद् रास-परिश्रान्तꣳ गोपी-मण्डल-मध्यगम् ॥२॥ पृथुꣳ सुवृत्तꣳ मसृणꣳ वितस्ति- मात्रोन्नतꣳ कौ विनिखन्य शङ्कुम् । आक्रम्य पद्भ्याम् इतरेतरात्त- हस्तैर् भ्रमो’यꣳ खलु रास-गोष्ठी ॥३॥ स्थल-नीरज-सून-पराग-भृता लहरी-कण-जाल-भरेण सता । मरुता परितापहृताध्युषिते विपुले यमुना-पुलिने विमले ॥४॥ अशरीर-निशान्त-शरोन्मथित- प्रमदा-शत-कोटिभिर् âकुलिते । उडुनाथ-करिर् विशदीकृत-दिक्- प्रसरे विचरद्-भ्रमरी-निकरे ॥५॥ विद्याधर-किन्नर-सिद्ध-सुरैः गन्धर्व-भुजङ्गम-चारणकैः । दारोपहितैः सुविमान-गतैः स्वस्थैर् अभिवृष्ट-सुपुष्प-चयैः ॥६॥ इतरेतर-बद्ध-कर-प्रमदा- गण-कल्पित-रास-विहार-विधौ । मणि-शङ्कु-गम् अप्य् अमुनावपुषा बहुधा विहित-स्वक-दिव्य-तनुम् ॥७॥ सुदृशाम् उभयोः पृथग्-अन्तरगꣳ दयिता-गण-बद्ध-भुज-द्वितयम् । निज-सङ्ग-विजृम्भद्-अनङ्ग-शिखि- ज्वलिताङ्ग-लसत्-पुलकालि-युजाम् ॥८॥ विविध-श्रुति-भिन्न-मनोज्ञतर- स्वरसप्तक-मूर्च्छन-ताल-गणैः । भ्रममाणम् अमूभिर् उदार-मणि- स्फुट-मण्डन-शिञ्जित-चारुतरम् ॥९॥ इति भिन्न-तनुꣳ मणिभिर् मिलितꣳ तपनीय-मयिर् इव भारकतम् । मणि-निर्मित-मध्यग-शङ्कु-लसद्- विपुलारुण-पङ्कज-मध्य-गतम् ॥१०॥ अतसी-कुसुमाभ-तनुꣳ तरुणꣳ तरुणारुण-पद्म-पलाश-दृशम् । नव-पल्लव-चित्र-सुगुच्छ-लसच्- छिखि-पिच्छ-पिनद्ध-कच-प्रचयम् ॥११॥ चटुल-भ्रुवम् इन्दु-समान-मुखꣳ मणि-कुण्डल-मण्डित-गण्ड-युगम् । शश-रक्त-सदृक्-दशन-च्छदनꣳ मणि-राजद्-अनेक-विधाभरणम् ॥१२॥ असन-प्रसव-च्छदनोज्ज्वलसद्- वसनꣳ सुविलास-निवास-भुवम् । नव-विद्रुम-भद्र-कराङ्घ्रि-तलꣳ भ्रमराकुल-दाम-विराजि-तनुम् ॥१३॥ तरुणी-कुच-युक्-परिरम्भ-मिलद्- घुसृणारुण-वक्षसम् उक्ष-गतिम् । शिव-वेणु-समीरित-गान-परꣳ स्मर-विह्वलितꣳ भुवनैक-गुरुम् ॥१४॥ प्रथमोदित-पीठ-वरे विधिवत् प्रयजेद् इति रूपम् अरूपम् अजम् । प्रथमꣳ परिपूज्य तद्-अङ्ग-वृत्तिꣳ मिथुनानि यजेद् रसगानि ततः ॥१५॥ दल-षोडशके स्वरम् ऊति-गणꣳ सह-शक्तिकम् उत्तम-रास-गतम् । सरमा-मदनम् स्व-कला-सहित- मिथुनाह्वम् अथेन्द्रप-विप्र-मुखान् ॥१६॥ इति सम्यग् अमुꣳ परिपूज्य हरिꣳ चतुरावृति-सꣳवृतम् आर्द्र-मतिः । रजतारचिते चषके स-सितꣳ सुशृतꣳ सुपयो’स्य निवेदयतु ॥१७॥ विभवे सति क्¸अꣳस्यमयेषु पृथक् चषकेषु तु षोडशसु क्रमशः । मिथुनेषु निवेद्य पयः स-सितꣳ विदधीत पुरोवद् अथो सकलम् ॥१८॥ सकल-भुवन-मोह्नꣳ विधिꣳ यो नियतम् अमुꣳ निशि निश्य् उदार-चेताः । भजति स खलु सर्व-लोक-पूज्यः श्रियम् अतुलाꣳ समवाप्य यात्य् अनन्तम् ॥१९॥ निशि वा दिनान्त-समये प्रपूजयेन् नित्यशो’च्युतꣳ भक्त्या । समपहलम् उभयꣳ हि ततः सꣳसाराब्धिꣳ समुत्तितीर्षति यः ॥२०॥ इति श्री-नारद-पञ्चरात्रे ज्ञानामृत-सारे तृतीय-रात्रे द्वादशो’ध्यायः ॥१२॥ …

dvādaśo’dhyāyaḥ sāyāhne vāsudevaṁ yo nityam eva yajen naraḥ | sarvān kāmān avāpyānte sa yāti paramāṁ gatim ||1|| rātrau cen manmathākrānta-mānasaṁ devakī-sutam | yajed rāsa-pariśrāntaṁ gopī-maṇḍala-madhyagam ||2|| pṛthuṁ suvṛttaṁ masṛṇaṁ vitasti- mātronnataṁ kau vinikhanya śaṅkum | ākramya padbhyām itaretarātta- hastair bhramo’yaṁ khalu rāsa-goṣṭhī ||3|| sthala-nīraja-sūna-parāga-bhṛtā laharī-kaṇa-jāla-bhareṇa satā | marutā paritāpahṛtādhyuṣite vipule yamunā-puline vimale ||4|| aśarīra-niśānta-śaronmathita- pramadā-śata-koṭibhir âkulite | uḍunātha-karir viśadīkṛta-dik- prasare vicarad-bhramarī-nikare ||5|| vidyādhara-kinnara-siddha-suraiḥ gandharva-bhujaṅgama-cāraṇakaiḥ | dāropahitaiḥ suvimāna-gataiḥ svasthair abhivṛṣṭa-supuṣpa-cayaiḥ ||6|| itaretara-baddha-kara-pramadā- gaṇa-kalpita-rāsa-vihāra-vidhau | maṇi-śaṅku-gam apy amunāvapuṣā bahudhā vihita-svaka-divya-tanum ||7|| sudṛśām ubhayoḥ pṛthag-antaragaṁ dayitā-gaṇa-baddha-bhuja-dvitayam | nija-saṅga-vijṛmbhad-anaṅga-śikhi- jvalitāṅga-lasat-pulakāli-yujām ||8|| vividha-śruti-bhinna-manojñatara- svarasaptaka-mūrcchana-tāla-gaṇaiḥ | bhramamāṇam amūbhir udāra-maṇi- sphuṭa-maṇḍana-śiñjita-cārutaram ||9|| iti bhinna-tanuṁ maṇibhir militaṁ tapanīya-mayir iva bhārakatam | maṇi-nirmita-madhyaga-śaṅku-lasad- vipulāruṇa-paṅkaja-madhya-gatam ||10|| atasī-kusumābha-tanuṁ taruṇaṁ taruṇāruṇa-padma-palāśa-dṛśam | nava-pallava-citra-suguccha-lasac- chikhi-piccha-pinaddha-kaca-pracayam ||11|| caṭula-bhruvam indu-samāna-mukhaṁ maṇi-kuṇḍala-maṇḍita-gaṇḍa-yugam | śaśa-rakta-sadṛk-daśana-cchadanaṁ maṇi-rājad-aneka-vidhābharaṇam ||12|| asana-prasava-cchadanojjvalasad- vasanaṁ suvilāsa-nivāsa-bhuvam | nava-vidruma-bhadra-karāṅghri-talaṁ bhramarākula-dāma-virāji-tanum ||13|| taruṇī-kuca-yuk-parirambha-milad- ghusṛṇāruṇa-vakṣasam ukṣa-gatim | śiva-veṇu-samīrita-gāna-paraṁ smara-vihvalitaṁ bhuvanaika-gurum ||14|| prathamodita-pīṭha-vare vidhivat prayajed iti rūpam arūpam ajam | prathamaṁ paripūjya tad-aṅga-vṛttiṁ mithunāni yajed rasagāni tataḥ ||15|| dala-ṣoḍaśake svaram ūti-gaṇaṁ saha-śaktikam uttama-rāsa-gatam | saramā-madanam sva-kalā-sahita- mithunāhvam athendrapa-vipra-mukhān ||16|| iti samyag amuṁ paripūjya hariṁ caturāvṛti-saṁvṛtam ārdra-matiḥ | rajatāracite caṣake sa-sitaṁ suśṛtaṁ supayo’sya nivedayatu ||17|| vibhave sati k¸aṁsyamayeṣu pṛthak caṣakeṣu tu ṣoḍaśasu kramaśaḥ | mithuneṣu nivedya payaḥ sa-sitaṁ vidadhīta purovad atho sakalam ||18|| sakala-bhuvana-mohnaṁ vidhiṁ yo niyatam amuṁ niśi niśy udāra-cetāḥ | bhajati sa khalu sarva-loka-pūjyaḥ śriyam atulāṁ samavāpya yāty anantam ||19|| niśi vā dinānta-samaye prapūjayen nityaśo’cyutaṁ bhaktyā | samapahalam ubhayaṁ hi tataḥ saṁsārābdhiṁ samuttitīrṣati yaḥ ||20|| iti śrī-nārada-pañcarātre jñānāmṛta-sāre tṛtīya-rātre dvādaśo’dhyāyaḥ ||12|| …

CHAPTER XII

HOW TO PERFORM THE SEVA OF SRI KRSNA IN THE NIGHT AND IN THE EVENING.

Sri Vyasa said: Whoever performs in every evening thus the ‘worship of Vasudeva he, attaining all his desires, gets in the end the highest goal. (1)

Tf, in the night the worship of Sri Krsna, the son of Devakt be performed within the circle of the Gopis, as if he is tried in the

divine Rasalila and His heart overpowered with the idea of His being the God of Love. (2)

Then draw His figure, pulpy, nicely ‘circular, Shining and of length measured by the extended thumb and little finger and

worship Him as if He js falling on the assembly of His kindred families in the Rasa circle by His hands and feet, (3)

And think that the beauuful banks of the Yamuna where the gentle breeze is blowing over the lotus (Sthalapadma growing on the soil) and Carrying their shining pollens to and fro, (4)

Again when their hearts were delighted on hearing various yee sounds, seven musical notes, murchanas and tans, etc, then it seemed that a very sweet and charming deliberation is being excited in them (they were revelling in very sweet and pleasant thoughts). (9)

Thus the states of bodies of these ladies were their usual conditions. They looked as if shining gems and lotuses at the time of the rising Sun.

Embracing the breasts of these youthful ladies,, that Secondless Guru of the whole Universe, Sri Hari, the best of the Gopas is seen as if over whelmed with emotion of love > am become red, like the rising Sun. — (14)

Thus locating the ladies within the pitha, worship them 5 where due to Sri Krsaa’s, that Immutable, pirthicss Spirit full of Rasas (Sentiments bleasing etc.,) extension of body, they the Gopikas have become parts and parcels of His body. Thus thinking, worship Sri Krsna first. (15)

Thus steeped in ideas of devotion, the devotee should nial the worship of Sri Hari : and then offer sugar, ghee, and milk an other articles to be offered, on silver plates having four parts: (A4varanas) separated from each other. (17)

And, if the devotee be rich, sixteen Kansya vessels are to ee Provided separately, in due order, having naivedyas (offerings © : articles etc) with all the ingrepients, ghee etc., for each separate couples (mithuras). (18) ; !

He who being liberal-hearted worships thus in every fortnight the world Enchanterer, becomes an object of worship of all persons and in the end attains limitless fruits. _ (19)

He who thus worships Sri Hari daily in every night or in every evening with devotion, gets equal fruits (results) in this life and

hereafter and is saved from this occean of world. (20)
