English translation
To reach Vrindavana, the cowherds' boundless multitude of cows crossed the Yamuna first. The cowherds repeatedly raised tremendous cries of "Hi, hi," encouraging them toward the far bank. Answering with their lowing as though approving the keepers' command, the cows advanced through the fierce current. Their nostrils widened with laboring breath, and swimming raised the fronts of their bodies. Thus they gradually crossed the stream and reached the Yamuna's other bank:

Countless calves crossed fearlessly. Horns had not yet grown upon their small, lovely heads, yet they overflowed with the joy of swimming. Their little bodies let them pass easily through the stream. Water made the hair of their short tails heavy, so they could not lift them. Still they felt no fear, for their mothers swam ahead. Following them, the calves reached safety everywhere:

Very small newborn calves could not swim. Skilled cowherd swimmers carried them on their shoulders, placing two legs over each shoulder and seating them comfortably upon back and shoulders. Fearing they might leap into the current, the men pressed all four legs firmly against their chests with one arm and swam with the other. The cowherds went ahead carrying the calves, while their mothers followed, crying "Humma, humma" and cutting through the sun's daughter's current:

The finest bulls made an extraordinary sight. Waves struck their immense, full humps and shattered. Though the current was powerful, the proud bulls swam with ease. Water checked by their humps leapt upward and bathed them. Taking the impact as a challenge, they angrily made beautiful gestures, bent their necks, and struck the waves with their horns. Playing with the waves, heads raised, and agitating the stream with long breaths and swift strokes, they reached the far bank:

Upon the great cart, Shri Krishnachandra and Balarama stood beside the two mothers and watched the immense herd swim. This unprecedented wonder filled them with boundless joy. Dancing their tender hands, they showed the mothers the swimming posture of one cow after another and repeatedly prepared to jump from the cart. Had the mothers not remained vigilant, they would have leapt down and caught a swimming calf. On a high mound nearby, Vrajesha cooled his eyes by beholding his dark son's joyful expression and forgot all concern for the cows.

Gradually all cows and bulls crossed and stood in rows upon Kalindi's clean sand like a sheet of camphor dust. Boats gathered to carry the carts across and form a bridge upon Yamuna's breast.

The carts rumbled across the bridge. The women sang, the cowherds' exuberant laughter filled the sky, and young men danced and leapt. All crossed into Vrindavana. The mothers came upon the great cart holding Rama and Shyama. As soon as it touched the bank, the brothers jumped like lightning and called Subala, Shridama, and the others. Through Yogamaya, every child had felt throughout the journey that his cart was nearest Shri Krishnachandra's, so they gathered from countless carts within moments and surrounded him. Shri Krishnachandra advanced to behold Vrindavana, with children before and behind. Beauty lay everywhere in the mysterious forest that assumed ever-new splendor each moment. Rama and Krishna wandered everywhere, looking left and right:

The poet's imagination became true today. Ordinarily he experiences birdsong as music, wind-stirred vines as dancing, and shoots raised by clouds as the earth maiden's horripilation, though ordinary people see only birds, vines, and shoots. Had the poet beheld eternal conscious Vrindavana and Shri Krishnachandra wandering there, his seemingly fanciful words would be literally true. Today in Krishna's presence, birdsong truly became sweet melody, moving vines truly danced, and the earth's shoots were genuine horripilation from his foot-touch. These were not poetic figures but natural truths manifested by the arrival of Shri Krishnachandra, Purushottama and conscious bliss. To grace-purified divine eyes they are eternally true. Vrindavana overflowed with song, dance, thrills, and countless expressions of joy, every particle revealing delight too vast to contain:

Shri Krishnachandra sometimes ran and sometimes climbed a beloved older boy's shoulder. The children led him to new bowers and vine-covered places, while he showed them beautiful sites as though long familiar with every particle. Deer and peacocks approached with auspicious gestures, gazed longingly, then danced and bounded into the forest. Following them, he wandered from bower to bower, bank to forest, and forest to Kalindi's shore. Without the attendants sent by Mother, he might have explored the entire forest. Softened by their pleas, he returned, though his gaze repeatedly went toward the lovely path leading to Govardhana's feet. Had they arrived a little later, they would not have found him, for like a young deer he would have run to see the mountain closely that very day.
