Smoke and night: the deity that presides over smoke and the deity that presides over night. Likewise the dark one, the deity of the dark fortnight; and the six months of the southern course, as before, are themselves a deity. By that path the yogin who is a doer of action, a performer of the prescribed rites and the like, reaches the light that is in the moon, the lunar realm which is his fruit; having enjoyed it, when it is spent he returns here again.
