English Translation

Cursed be the love that is mere show, like the moth that is fooled by the flame. A daughter-in-law weeps for her mother-in-law, but her true feeling within is different. The monkey is soft-spoken on the surface, but its inner nature is something else entirely. It is like the beauty of a tulsi shrine, pleasing to look at but empty to hold. The crane assumes the pose of meditation, but it is only hunting for fish. Says Tuka, the serpent sways to music in the same way that a hypocrite attends a discourse.
