English Translation
A Kannada-speaking woman married a Marathi-speaking husband; neither understands the other's words. Do not make my plight like theirs, O Lord of Kamala; grant me the company of the saints. She called out to him lovingly, but he ran away, thinking she had cursed him. Says Tuka, when two people are thus estranged, sorrow only grows in the guise of happiness.
