नये जरी तुज मधुर उत्तर । दिधला सुस्वर नाहीं देवें ॥१॥

English Translation
If you cannot sing sweet melodies, know that God did not give you a fine voice without reason. Vitthal does not hunger for melody alone; let the words Rama and Krishna come however they may. Ask God for the devotion born of love, for faith and affection powered by feeling. Says Tuka, I tell the mind this counsel: strengthen your resolve with each passing day.
