English Translation
Like a snake-charmer who entraps a serpent with music, leads it from door to door to fill his belly, and then shuts it in a box: just so has been my fate, O Panduranga. I am entangled; release me now. Nothing of mine is in my own hands without Your grace. Like a fish caught on a baited hook that swallowed the lure, I am being pulled out, my life being taken. Who is there to help? Like a bird that rushes to feed its young and gets caught in a snare, forgetting even death in its love for them, and can save neither its life nor its children. Like a fly stuck in sweetness, the more it struggles, the deeper it sinks. Says Tuka, desire has taken my very breath. O Dweller of Pandhari, come rushing to my aid.
