Lord of monkeys, remover of Sugrīva's distress and giver of happiness to Sītā, friend of Rāma, Bharata, and Lakṣmaṇa: place your hand upon my head. Having taken the name of merciful Rāma, who but you remains now as the hope of this destitute servant? In a single resolve I shall go nowhere else; I shall even bear the blows of your shoes. Give me food—the loving repetition of Rāma—and let me cling to it, whether I worship laughing or weeping. Treasury of virtue, keep your servant Rasarangamaṇi—a slave to the glance of your eyes. (138) I bow to the excellent supreme guru named Rāmapriyāśaraṇa. Leaving the guru's seat in Multān, he journeyed to holy Ayodhyā; he dwelt in Ayodhyā, Mithilā, and Prayāga and established many disciples. Deeply attached to Sītā and Raghubara, exceedingly compassionate, he brought happiness to all. By eloquently expounding the Bhaktamāla he established devotion even in non-devotees. Knower of Rāma's secret glory, he removed the wicked understanding of Rasarangamaṇi. I bow to the excellent supreme guru named Rāmapriyāśaraṇa. (139) Anointed with white sandal paste, fair Rāmalāla shines beside fair Śrī Kiśorī, the two fit together in a single radiance. A crown, crescent, and other ornaments shine upon their heads and limbs; beholding their beauty, even Kāma, Rati, and Ramā are put to shame. Countless thousands of moons are sacrificed before their faces; gazing eyes strike the mind again and again. Intoxicated by the loveliness of their adornment, Rasarangamaṇi beholds the Beloved Lady and Lord in the golden palace. (140) The revered guru placed his hand upon my head and recited the mantra of Sītā's Lord. Giving the bond and devotional mood of friendship, he graciously accepted me as his own. He bestowed grace in Ayodhyā, on the eighth of the dark fortnight of Bhādra in the year nineteen thirty-six. The guru, Rāma embodied, raised up one as fallen as I; giving refuge in Sītā-Rāma, he restored all of Maṇi Rasaranga's being. (141)
