—जानत राम दयानिधि है, जगतारक नाम तिहाँरो॥१॥ नामप्रभावहिं ते शिवहू अविनासी, विनाश के भव सारो। नाम सुनाय पुरी अपनो रसरङ्गमणी, हरि मुक्ति प्रचारो॥ नामहिं के बल खाय हलाहल, नाश कियो सबकी दुखभारो। को नहिं जानत राम दयानिधि है, जगतारक नाम तिहाँरो॥२॥ नाम अमी शतकोटि चरित्र मथे, लहि शंभु उमा उर धारो। एकहिं बार उचारत राम, उचार तुले हरिनाम हजारो॥ जो जपि गौरि लियो रसरङ्गमणी, शिवसङ्ग प्रसाद सुप्यारो। को नहिं जानत राम दयानिधि है, जगतारक नाम तिहाँरो॥३॥ नाम ‘मरा’ उलटा जपते कवि-कोकिल पाप भयो जरि छारो। रामचरित्र रचे शतकोटि, हरे एक आखर जो अघभारो॥ नाम रटे रसरङ्गमणी, कलि साधन आन न भूलि निहारो। को नहिं जानत राम दयानिधि है, जगतारक नाम तिहाँरो॥४॥ नामहिं ते शुक औ गणिका रसरङ्गमणी, बसे राम अगारो। नाम ‘हराम’ कह्यो जमना, ‘हरिवाम’ लह्यो करिके अघछारो॥ नामनेर प्रताप चहूँ जुग चाम सु दाम चलावन हारो। को नहिं जानत राम दयानिधि है, जगतारक नाम तिहाँरो॥५॥ नामहिं के बल सोषि लियो मुनि-कुंभजहूँ जलसिंधु अपारो। नामहिं ते प्रहलाद विषाद मिटे, प्रगटे नरसिंह उदारो॥ नाम जपे रसरङ्गमणी, ध्रुवहूँ ध्रुवधाम लह्यो सुखसारो। को नहिं जानत राम दयानिधि है, जगतारक नाम तिहाँरो॥६॥ ध्यान कृते, मख त्रेतहिं में, प्रभुपूजन द्वापर वेद उचारो। नामहिं केवल है कलि में रसरङ्गमणी, नहिं और अधारो॥ नाम रटे तरिहैं, तरि हैं—

The first stanza’s refrain concludes: everyone knows Rāma is the ocean of compassion and his name carries the world across. Through the name’s power even immortal Śiva becomes the essence that ends worldly destruction. In his own city he proclaims liberation by speaking the name. By its strength he drank the halāhala poison and removed the burden of everyone’s sorrow. Śiva churned the nectar of the name from a hundred million divine deeds and held it with Umā in his heart. A single utterance of ‘Rāma’ equals a thousand names of Hari. Repeating it, Gaurī received the cherished blessing of union with Śiva. By repeating ‘mara,’ the name reversed, the cuckoo among poets Vālmīki burned his sins to ash. He composed Rāma’s story in a hundred crore verses; even one syllable removes a weight of sin. In the age of Kali, forget every other means and repeat the name. Through the name Śuka and the courtesan came to dwell in Rāma’s abode. Ajāmila, even while uttering a corrupted word at death, reached Hari’s realm and his sins became ash. The name’s glory circulates freely through all four ages. By the name’s strength the pitcher-born sage Agastya dried up the boundless ocean; through it Prahlāda’s grief ended and generous Narasiṃha appeared; repeating it, Dhruva attained the steadfast celestial abode, the essence of bliss. Meditation was prescribed for Kṛta, sacrifice for Tretā, and ritual worship for Dvāpara; in Kali the name alone remains, and there is no other support. The final line declares that those who repeat it cross over and continues on the next page.
