सन्ति ते मुमुक्षुजीवान् ज्ञानविज्ञानोपदेशं कृत्वोचितसंस्कारम् आत्मनः समाश्रयञ्च कृत्वा प्रभोः शरणं ददति। प्रश्न—मोह का कारण क्या है? उत्तर—तमोगुणी, रजोगुणी, सत्त्वगुणी सनातनी माया—यह मिश्रित तत्त्व है। प्रश्न—माया का प्रेरक स्वामी कौन है? उत्तर—परब्रह्म दाशरथि श्रीरामभद्र जू। प्रश्न—माया से उत्पन्न मोह कैसे छूटता है? उत्तर—जो पूर्ण रूप से श्रीसीतारामजी के तत्त्व के ज्ञाता महापुरुष महात्मागण हैं, वे मुमुक्षु अर्थात् पूर्ण मोक्ष की इच्छा वाले श्रद्धालु जीवों को प्रथम ज्ञान और विज्ञान का उपदेश कर, उचित संस्कार करके, उसकी आत्मा को श्रीप्रभु के शरण में जाने योग्य बना करके श्रीयुगलसरकार की शरणागति को प्राप्त करा देते हैं। इससे यह निश्चय हुआ कि जीव को बिना आचार्य के प्रभु की शरणागति नहीं होती है। (श्रुतिः) ‘आचार्यवान् पुरुषो वेद।’ आचार्यनिष्ठ ही पुरुष ब्रह्मतत्त्व को जानता है। इस विषय में और भी प्रमाण देखिये— ब्रह्मपुत्र देवर्षि श्रीनारदजी इतने विद्वान् भी थे, पर बिना आचार्य के उनको ब्रह्मतत्त्व का ज्ञान नहीं हुआ। अपने भगवान्—

Those great souls instruct living beings who desire liberation in knowledge and realized knowledge, form the proper sacred dispositions in them, establish them in the shelter of the self, and give them refuge in the Lord. Question: What is the cause of delusion? Answer: Beginningless Māyā, a composite principle made of tamas, rajas, and sattva. Question: Who is the Lord who directs Māyā? Answer: Śrī Rāmabhadra, son of Daśaratha and the Supreme Brahman. Question: How is the delusion born of Māyā cast off? Answer: The great souls who fully know the truth of Śrī Sītā-Rāma first teach faithful living beings who desire complete liberation both knowledge and realized knowledge. They give them the proper formation, make the self fit to enter the Lord’s refuge, and bring them to surrender before the Divine Couple. It is therefore settled that a living being does not attain the Lord’s refuge without a teacher. Scripture says, ‘The person who has a teacher knows.’ Only one who is steadfast in a teacher knows the truth of Brahman. See further evidence on this point.
