Fresh English translation

It forgets acts stained by desire and preserves the duties prescribed for its station, yet grows weary even within religious duty and follows only service of the Lord. Serving with mind, speech, and body after abandoning deceit, it does not maintain one attitude inside and another outside. Service is dearer than life itself, the firmly established and noblest means of every kind. Wherever it remains, it regards everyone as a companion and stays immersed in the nectar-ocean of attachment to the Lord. It clearly contemplates the joy-giving relationships and moment by moment beholds the true forms of self and Supreme. The relations are husband and wife; master and attendant; father and child; possessor of dharma and dharma; body and the beautiful embodied one; owner and possession; controller and controlled; protector and protected; support and supported; pervader and pervaded; object of enjoyment and enjoyer in a single rasa; the powerful and powerless; the all-complete and the one lacking fullness; knower and unknowing. The Lord is free of every desire, the soul filled with countless desires. Thus the supremely accomplished understand the firm relations between self and Supreme. Although every relation is incomparable, husband and wife is the form of greatest joy. Within it intense love shines and the Beloved’s rasa appears without covering. Every rasa is contained within it, so its happiness is supreme. Its devoted partiality has a distinctive mode, rightly understood by the discerning. Firm exclusivity remains one-flavoured and does not listen to the tasteless thought of infidelity. Every feeling is placed in Sītā’s Beloved; it remains there continually and goes nowhere else. Full of dependent delight and play, the beautiful body remains attached to that dwelling. It accepts whatever occurs as accordant with Sītā’s Lord’s will and forgets every thorn. Hold not the slightest agitation in the heart; utter Sītā’s Lord’s name day and night.
