अथ अर्थ-पंचक प्रथम तीसरो त्यागिये, निज हित अहित बिचार । युगल अनन्य शरण विशद, भाव भावना धार ॥ ईश्वर विवेचन ईश स्वरूप अनूप पांच विधि । बरनत होइ विरुद्ध सहज सिधि ॥ पर अरु व्यूह विभव हिय गुनिये । अंतर्यामी सदर्चा सुनिये ॥ ईश्वर पांच प्रकार सुभावन । निज अधिकार योग मन भावन ॥ पर नित्य एक रस अवध-बिहारी । नायक-युगल विभूति खरारी ॥ दिव्य नव्य गुन अमित समेता । कारन चतुर रूप सुखहेता ॥ नित्यमुक्त मुक्तन मुद-दायक । श्री साकेत ईश रघुनायक ॥ विविध शक्ति संयुक्त सदाई । भूषन नवल अंग प्रति छाई ॥ दिव्य भव्य सौंदर्य निधाना । गुनातीत गुनराशि सुजाना ॥ सगुन अगुन कारन रसरासी । जेहि सुमिरत छूटत भवफांसी ॥ निज इच्छावश कबहूँ कृपाला । प्रगटत परिकर सहित रसाला ॥ रूप भेद गुन भेद न होई । परम पुरुष जानत कोइ कोई ॥ श्री सीतावर अकथ विचारो । सर्वोपरि सुखसिंधु सम्हारो ॥ श्री सियवल्लभ कृपानिधाना । निज स्वरूप गुन अंश प्रधाना ॥ नारायण तिमि विष्णु कहावै । सो बैकुंठ बीच छवि छावै ॥ अंश प्रशंस जानकी नायक । नारायण आदिक गुन गायक ॥ आरन से सोई पर जानो । मरम गोप गुरुवाक्य प्रमानो ॥ परम परेश परात्पर, राजत नित्य किशोर । श्री जानकी सुप्रान प्रिय, नखशिख अति चितचोर ॥
Fresh English translation
Reject the first and the third states after discerning what helps and harms your true welfare. Yugalānanya Śaraṇa says: hold the clear contemplative feeling in the heart. The Lord’s incomparable nature is fivefold. Describing it makes apparently contrary truths naturally coherent. Reflect inwardly upon the Supreme, the emanations, and the descents; then hear of the Inner Ruler and the ever-worshipful image. These five delightful forms of the Lord please the mind according to each worshipper’s proper competence. The Supreme is the eternal, single-flavoured Player of Ayodhyā, the sovereign Couple, slayer of Khara, endowed with majesty, countless ever-new divine virtues, and four causal forms that bestow bliss. Raghunāyaka, Lord of sacred Sāketa, gives joy to the eternally liberated and the liberated. Always joined to manifold powers, with fresh ornaments shining upon every limb, he is the treasury of divine and magnificent beauty, beyond the qualities yet a wise abundance of virtues, the source of both manifest and unmanifest, and an ocean of rasa. Remembering him cuts the noose of becoming. At times, by his own will, the compassionate Lord appears full of rasa together with his retinue. His forms and virtues are not divided; only a rare person knows this Supreme Person. Contemplate the ineffable Lord of Sītā and preserve him as the supreme ocean of happiness. Sītā’s Beloved, treasury of compassion, gives prominence to an expansion of his own form and virtues; that form is called Nārāyaṇa or Viṣṇu and spreads its splendour through Vaikuṇṭha. Nārāyaṇa and the others are celebrated as portions and sing the virtues of Jānakī’s Lord. Know him to be Supreme above all others; this secret is hidden, and the guru’s word is its authority. The highest Lord beyond the highest shines as an eternal youth, supremely dear to Jānakī’s life-breath and stealing the heart from nail to crown.
