English Translation · I.P. 2649
'TpHOUGH I have abandoned the world, yet desires arise in my heart; what am I to do? Let me cast at thy feet this bundle of my body. As to whether we do or do not, rules and prohibitions may guide us; but if we cannot discern their inner spirit, we shall waste our labour. Tuka says, Give me not life on the surface, but hide thyself within me.
