English Translation
I am the steward of God's storehouse, dispensing its income and its expenditure. Now my hands and feet move without stain; I did not know such a thing was possible. God has taken away all worry and become the doer of everything. Says Tuka, He is the master, and He provides all that is needed.

I am the keeper of God's storehouse; I handle its income and its spending. Now my hands and feet do their work without stain; I did not know such a thing was possible. God has carried away my worry and become the doer of it all. Tuka says: he is the master, and he supplies everything that is needed.
What it means
Tukaram describes the relief of having handed the whole charge over to God. He still acts, calling himself the steward who manages the storehouse, but the ownership and the doing belong to the Lord. Because of this his actions no longer leave a stain on him, a freedom he says he never knew was possible: work done as God's servant does not bind. God has taken away anxiety by becoming the true doer, and as master he provides whatever is required, so the steward need only carry out the tasks without fear of the outcome.
