English Translation
Our entire wealth is Vitthala alone. We know nothing beyond that; those feet are the seed of truth itself. Says Tuka, through the company of the saints, I have been dyed in this color.
We ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies in rendering Tukaram ji’s original Marathi.
In Plain Words
All our wealth is here. It is Vitthal alone. We know nothing else beyond that. Those feet are the seed of truth itself. Tuka says: through the company of the saints, I have been dyed in this color.
What it means
Tukaram declares that his entire capital, his whole store of worth, is Vitthal and nothing besides. He knows no second thing, because for him those feet are the very seed from which truth grows. Then he names how this single-mindedness took hold in him: not by his own effort but through the company of the saints. That fellowship dyed him in one color, the way cloth takes a dye, until no other allegiance remained.
