English Translation
Let name and form burn now. The sin knotted within me must go. By the dust of the saints' feet, I shall cast off this earthly burden. False pride was bringing me weariness. Says Tuka, the true happiness is that of the Formless, the nameless joy.

What it means
Tukaram is surrendering the very things he had clung to as himself. He asks that name and form be burned away, along with the sin he has carried bound up within. The means he names is humble: by the dust of the saints' feet he will lay down the heavy load of his bodily, earthly self. He confesses that the pride built on a false self only wore him out. What remains, and what he calls the only true happiness, is the formless, nameless joy of God, which has no name and no shape to lose.
