श्रुति निगम सकल अनूठ गद गद जयति जय जय जयभनी । बहु भाँति पूजा कीन्ह संपुट पानि करि कहि सुनु धनी ॥१॥ करि कृपा अब नहिं होइ भ्रम जेउ सकल जिय बसाइये । हठ पाइ पद सिर नाइ रत भरें उभय निज निज थल गये । शुभ शेष श्रुति संवाद जे नर सुनहिं सुभभक्ति गावहीं । संसार घोर पतंग इवतर परम सुख सो पावहीं ॥२॥ ॥ सोरठा ॥ श्रोता वक्ता पूर, यथा तुला को तौलिबो । युगल सेन समरथ, समर पूरि रिपु भ्रम मरत ॥१॥ शेष वेद संवाद जो सत गुरु कहते नहीं । केहि विधि मिटत विषाद रामचरण कलि कपट घर ॥२॥ इति श्री रसमालिकायां बोधशास्त्रे वेदस्तुति लोक संज्ञा वरणनो नाम चतुर्दशोऽवकाशः ॥१४॥ अथ अवकाश १५ ॥ रूप चौपाई छन्द ॥ मैं निजहीं सत गुरुहिं निहोरी तीन प्रश्न प्रभु कहहु बहोरी । मिटेउ कवन थल वेद विषादा अबहूँ कहहु यह भा सवादा ॥१॥ कहहु अथर्वण केहि सनपाई थोरे महँ सब कहहु बुझाई । क्षीरसिंधु तट मणिमय दूरी दिव्य वेदिका परघट रूरी ॥२॥ प्रगटहिं प्रभु जेहि वेद पुकारा तेहि थल भा संवाद उदारा । गोदावरी तट सुभग सुहाई सदा एक रस धरिया न जाई ॥३॥
Fresh English translation
All the revelations and Vedas, overcome with wonder and choked with feeling, proclaim, 'Victory, victory, victory!' They worship in many ways and, cupping their hands, say, 'Hear us, Lord. By your grace no delusion now remains; you have brought every heart under your sway.' Having stubbornly reached his feet, they bow their heads and, filled with love, both parties return to their own places. Those who hear this auspicious dialogue of Śeṣa and Śruti and sing it with holy devotion cross the dreadful world as lightly as a moth and attain supreme joy. In sorathā meter, hearer and speaker are complete, like the two pans that weigh evenly on a scale; the paired armies are equally strong, and when battle is fully joined the enemy called delusion dies. If the true guru did not relate the dialogue of Śeṣa and the Veda, how would grief be dispelled in this age, the house of deceit? The colophon closes the fourteenth avakāśa, on the Vedas' praise and the description of the designations of the worlds. The fifteenth avakāśa begins in rūpa-caupāī meter. The narrator looks toward his own true guru and asks the Lord three questions: 'Tell me again—at what place was the Veda's sorrow dispelled? Tell me even now where this dialogue occurred, and from whom Atharvan received it; explain everything briefly.' The reply locates it beside the Milk Ocean, at a remote jeweled place upon a splendid divine platform. The generous dialogue occurred where the Lord—whom the Veda proclaims—appeared: upon the lovely bank of the Godāvarī, forever of one rasa and impossible to contain.
