॥ दोहा ॥ सूई मग गज चलत है यह अनकहनी बात जन मति अगम पपीला रस सुरतरु फल कहूँ खात ॥१॥ पदुमासन सब सखिन के दल प्रति लखब हजार रामचरण पिय टहल में जेहि सखि जस अधिकार ॥२॥ इति श्री रसमालिकायां बोध शास्त्रे सर्वोपरिस्थाने स्थिते शोभार्णवे ध्यानद्रुते संज्ञावरणनो नाम पंचमोवकाशः ॥५॥ ॥ अथ अवकाश ६ ॥ ॥ मनोरम छन्द ॥ एक सहस कमल दल आसन दश लक्ष सखिन के आसन रुचि महल टहल अधिकारी पिय सेज सँवारनि हारी ॥१॥ दल षोडश कमल रुचिर जहँ सखि सोरह सहस मत तहाँ पट भूषन रचि रुचि लीन्हे प्रभु नयन नयन चित दीन्हे ॥२॥ दल द्वादश कमल प्रकाश सोइ सहस सखी पदुमासे लिहे पात्र सुगंध न थोरे तन चर्चित अम्बर बोरे ॥३॥ जहँ दल दश कमल प्रशंसी दश सहस सखी तहाँ हंसी बहु व्यंजन रचि रचि कीन्हे भरे थार कमल कर लीन्हे ॥४॥ दल अष्टम कमल विचित्रा तहँ आठ सहस सखि चित्रा सो नित नृत्य परम कलासी पुनि गावहिं चित्त प्रकाशी ॥५॥
Fresh English translation
A doha confesses that to describe the divine gait is an unspeakable undertaking: a tiny human intellect attempts the impossible, like an ant eating the fruit of a wish-fulfilling tree. Each lotus seat bears its appointed companies of companions, all assigned their proper service to the Beloved. Thus ends the fifth avakāśa, the description of the ocean of beauty, liquefied in meditation, situated in the highest place of this teaching-text, Śrī Rasamālikā. The sixth avakāśa begins. A thousand-petalled lotus forms seats for a million companions charged with adorning the pleasure-palace and the Beloveds' couch. On the radiant sixteen-petalled lotus are sixteen thousand companions who arrange garments and ornaments and fix their eyes and hearts on the Lord. The twelve-petalled lotus carries its own great company bearing abundant fragrances with which they anoint the bodies and perfume the garments. Ten thousand smiling companions on the ten-petalled lotus prepare many foods and hold filled platters in lotus-hands. Eight thousand accomplished companions on the wondrous eight-petalled lotus continually dance and sing with illuminating artistry.
