Their lotus-like eyes shine as far as the ears; gracious is the glance for which good hearts wait. Earrings, flowers, jewels, and every ornament attend them, while day and night seem concealed before each beauty-mark. Their two faces are reservoirs of beauty beside which millions of moons are slight; the tilak, lips, teeth, and wondrous smile flash like lightning in a cloud around the young sun and lotus. Nose-ring, pendant, chin, cheeks, pearl necklace, armlets, bracelets, rings, garland, sacred thread, and radiant garments form an incomparable adornment. The lightning-bright border of the sari rests like a steady flash over Yamuna's darkness. All similes are trivial before this ungraspable beauty.
