(2) There are neither male companions nor servants, nor any masculine attendance. The one Puruṣottama himself dwells amid the service of female companions. His limitless dwellings are so wondrously patterned that none can supply a comparison; a discriminating rasika would suffer loss by attempting one. (3) The incomparable reality is the object of description; every other comparison is merely a firefly beside the sun. Occasionally the power of transcendent speech grants a little expression for the saints' delight. The ever more divine, pure-white mansions are set with thought-jewels; around them are earth, buildings, rivers, trees, birds, and noble bees. (4) Who can recount the treasury of houses, each construction wholly distinct? There the Lord's beloved, a mass of bliss-rasa, creates the single rasa. In house after house are indescribable canopies, brahman-jewels, and patterned courtyards; companions arrange jeweled plantain pillars and ritual vessels. (5) Jeweled bees and female bees hum through the palaces; birds call in their various ways. They dance in accordance with the heart and worship the Master with speech. The lanes exude divine fragrance, a mine of rasa and one rasa alone; the entire wondrous arrangement cannot be adequately praised. (6) In the city stands a vast wish-fulfilling vine-like tree: devotion and grace are its roots and trunk, while its branches, twigs, leaves, flowers, and sap are rasa. Like saints drunk on honey and wholly favorable to the Supreme Lord, its dense and lovely divine rasa flows forth and puts infinite rasa to shame. Beneath it begins the description of an unprecedented jeweled pavilion with immovable gemstone pillars.
