In cañcarīka meter: (2) Sideways glances dart like deer, lotuses, wagtails, bees, and Love himself. Smiling, faces turn and hands clap in quick succession. The beloved's hand touches a breast and drinks rasa from lip and brow; his bee-like face hovers at the lotus face of the companion. (3) Golden drops upon the jeweled, golden body seem like stars and moon fallen to earth, their light beautifying the moving and unmoving world. The vine of bliss flourishes and moves in play until, overcome with abandon, they fall into the river among hands and lotus stalks. (4) After many forms of water play they meet, filled with love and joy. Nose-rings are lost, locks become waves, Hari's nose ornament looks serpentine. Rāmacaraṇa says lotus hands, filled with love, make balls and throw them—companions on one side and the playful beloved's friends on the other. In sugandhā meter: (1) Even Śeṣa, Maheśa, Gaṇeśa, and the Sun, each with crores of mouths, could not describe that bliss in crores of aeons. How can my fallen ocean of a mind tell the glory of a rasa that shames the ocean of nectar and holds rasikas in its power? In kāvya meter the next scene begins: on the water's bank, in the city's center, stands an exceedingly wondrous mansion, inlaid with jewels of many colors and saturated with one ever more divine rasa.
