Fresh English translation

(3) The Lord himself dwells there assuming the great yogic form of Śiva; everything real that yoga can discipline lies within that reach. He is the limitless radiant form of the Person, master of his own splendor, granting his own form to countless servants while remaining one rasa. (4) How can my impure mind describe that stainless, unmoving ocean of bliss? Śeṣa tells the two Vedas, dense with knowledge and devotion: “Listen further—above it shines another divine abode, unqualified, pure, unwavering, measureless, and complete.” (5) It is an eternal realm untouched by the threefold great dissolution. Rāmacaraṇa says there is not even dust there; it is inconceivable, nondual, stainless, and beyond attachment and abandonment, yet the dwelling of equal devotion to the One served. (6) In its center dwells the Person called Vāsudeva, before whose beauty crores of suns, moons, lightning flashes, stars, lotuses, and clouds are ashamed. His incomparable eyes and wondrous brahman-form spread beauty; he makes the servants his own selves and adorns them like Brahmā. (7) As the Lord continued, the Vedas folded their hands: “Master, remove one doubt. Is the imperishable city inside the cosmic egg or outside it? You know the destruction of the universe in the great dissolution.” The reply begins with the celestial cow and the crest-jewel bestowed by the Lord.
