—It is an assembly that destroys transformations and great sins and reveals beautiful virtues. The six divine powers and six forms of wealth arise from nature; Rasarangamaṇi says it is the equipment of every happiness. Do no useless deed: receive it from the guru today, for it is the one means to union with Rāma. The king among mantras, the sovereign Rāma mantra, is a hawk against the birds of sorrow, a ship upon the ocean of becoming, and the crown of the whole host of mantras. (3) Homage to Śrī Sītā-Rāmacandra. Now the Twenty-Fivefold Worship of Śrī Sītā-Rāma. Together with Sītā and his brothers I desire to worship Rāma. Come into my mind in your own form, fulfiller of desire. (1: invocation) In lovely Ayodhyā, delightful to people's minds, stands the great jewelled abode. Reign upon its throne, Rāma, abode of grace and bliss. (2: offering the seat) From those feet the Gaṅgā arose, and Śiva and the others meditate upon them. Let me wash them, O giver of love, delightful Lord accompanied by Jānakī. (3: water for the feet) The lotus hand that bears bow and arrow grants fearlessness to the world and protects me. Rāma, lovely Lord, accept this arghya so I may wash it. (4: arghya) Your lotus face, joined with a gentle smile, is sweeter than sweet. Rāma, sip this water for purification and irrigate the vine of love. (5: water for sipping) Together with Sītā, bathe in lovely, fragrant water of Sarayū. Treasury of affection, I shall wash your limbs. (6: bathing) Your dark body is like a blue lotus and grants delight when touched. With love, I shall dry you, Lord of Sītā and source of bliss. (7: drying the limbs) With necklace and sacred waist-thread, you delight ten million Loves. Lord, put on the yellow garment; dark one, place Sītā's cloth beside it. (8: offering clothes) Protector of Viśvāmitra's sacrifice and performer of the great horse-sacrifice, Lord, put on this sacred thread of love and increase bliss. (9: sacred thread) A yellow upper cloth and other garments, lovely and suited to the season—
