The power of the Name is boundless, beyond intellect, mind, and speech. By the guru’s compassion, Rasarangamaṇi has uttered this octet. Now begins the play of rasa in Śrī Rāma’s form. He walks without feet, hears without ears, and performs actions even without hands. Without a tongue he enjoys every savour, and without mouth or speech he is the greatest speaker. Without breath he takes in fragrance; without a dwelling he is the essence of the happiness of touch. That very one is Rasarangamaṇi’s benefactor: the life of Sītā, the prince of Ayodhyā. He is the all-pervading expanse of the mighty, the source of emanation and the support of the cosmic form. Beyond qualities, he is the virtue within all who possess virtue; formless, the very ground of the formless. He is Brahman, the beginningless source even of the beginningless and the maker of the many. That very one is Rasarangamaṇi’s benefactor: the life of Sītā, the prince of Ayodhyā. Greater than the great and subtler than the subtle, he is the form of form, indivisible and limitless; the consciousness of the conscious, bliss of bliss, and truth of truth, distinct from all combined. Farther than the far and nearer than the near, better than the best, he extends through countless forms. That very one is Rasarangamaṇi’s benefactor: the life of Sītā, the prince of Ayodhyā. He is the life of the soul, breath of breath, the single form of the many. Lower than the low, higher than the high, complete yet partless, he is the essence of bliss. He is the person within the person, Lord of nature, and support of the three qualities and the great principle. That very one is Rasarangamaṇi’s benefactor: the life of Sītā, the prince of Ayodhyā.
