[मूल — चौपाई और दोहा] षष्षा खरो सोइ प्रभुको जन। प्रभु को अरपे निज तन मन धन॥ प्रभु सेवा तजै अपर न काजा। प्रभु ही को माने निज राजा॥ षष्षा खेल सबै तजै, जहाँ मिले व्यवहार। निर्मल मग में पग धरै, जहाँ सहजै पर चार॥ [सुजन-प्रबोधिनी सरल टीका] श्री ग्रन्थकार जी महाराज षकार व्यंजन द्वारा आदेश करते हुये कहते हैं कि श्री प्रभु का वही खरा अर्थात् चोखा भगत जन है जो अपने श्री प्रभु को अपना सब तन मन धन अर्पण करदे। अपना पन के लिये कुछ भी अपने पास न रक्खे। और श्री प्रभु की सेवा सुमिरन भजन छोड़कर कोई दूसरा कार्य अपने लिये न रक्खे और अपने श्री प्रभु को ही अपना सर्वस्व राजा माने और आप प्रजा वत सेवा सुभ्रूषा में आज्ञा में तत्पर रहे। ये भाव है। जावत जितने खेल तमाशे हैं तिन सब को त्याग दे। किसी को आँखों से न देखे और जहाँ इष्ट मिले अरु मन मिले, मिले रहस रत रीति। तुलसी तहां निःशंक होय, करिये दृढ़ कर प्रीति॥ अपना यथार्थ व्यवहार जहाँ मिल जाय वहाँ पर प्रीति करना, और सहज उठन बैठन बोलन चालन का प्रेम नेम रखना। सदैव निर्मल विकार रहित रास्ते में पाँव रखना। कुमार्ग के ओर देखना भी नहीं। सुन्दर भली राह में ही तत्पर रहना। जिसमें तत्पर रहने से अर्थात् जिस मार्ग के चलने से सहज ही में अर्थ धर्म काम मोक्ष चारों पदार्थों को प्राप्त करना। श्री हरि सुमिरन करते रहिये। बिन प्रभु सुमिरे चैन न लहिये॥ जो चाहिये सब विधि कुशल, हरिभजन को नहि छोड़िये। मन वचन कर्म लगाय सब दिन, सुरति प्रभु में जोड़िये॥ छिन भंग फोटक भ्रम में, जग की प्रतीत न कीजिये। परम आनन्द सुख लह, नर वर जनम फल लीजिये॥ जो सुनि गुन समझति सबहिं, धारण करे न बात। निश्चय तेहि शिर जानिये, अति अभाग सरसात॥
[Root — Chaupai and Doha] Ṣaṣṣā: Only that person is the Lord’s true servant who offers the Lord body, mind, and wealth; who undertakes no work apart from serving him, and acknowledges the Lord alone as sovereign. Ṣaṣṣā: Such a person abandons every diversion wherever true conduct is found, and sets foot on the stainless path, where the four aims come naturally. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant ṣa, the revered author commands: A genuine, pure devotee of Śrī Prabhu is one who offers his Lord his entire body, mind, and wealth, keeping nothing for a separate sense of ownership. Apart from serving, remembering, and worshipping Śrī Prabhu, he retains no other task for himself. He regards Śrī Prabhu alone as his all-in-all and sovereign, and, considering himself a subject, remains intent on service, attendance, and obedience. This is the meaning. He abandons every game and spectacle, does not look toward them, and follows the teaching: ‘Where the beloved is found and minds meet, where the way of love’s mystery is shared, Tulasī says to be fearless there and establish firm affection.’ Love wherever genuine conduct is found. Preserve the loving discipline of naturally rising, sitting, speaking, and walking together. Always place the foot upon the stainless path free of corruption; do not even look toward a wrong path. Remain intent upon the beautiful and good way, by following which the four human aims—prosperity, righteousness, desire, and liberation—are attained naturally. Continue remembering Śrī Hari; without remembering the Lord, no peace is found. If you desire well-being in every way, do not abandon Hari’s worship. Engage mind, speech, and action every day, and join awareness to the Lord. Do not place trust in this world of momentary, bursting illusion. Receive supreme bliss and happiness, and take the fruit of this excellent human birth. One who hears, reflects, and understands everything, yet adopts none of the teaching— know with certainty that extreme misfortune rests upon that person’s head.
