[Root — Chaupai and Doha] Dhadhyā: Rāma’s abode is supreme; I behold no other abode equal to it. Eternal and indivisible, it reigns upon the earth; for the supreme devotee, it is the array of bliss. Dhadhyā: Blessed is the person who meditates again upon the Abode, drinks the water of the Sarayū, and places faith in Ayodhyā. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Śrī Rasika Alī Jī Mahārāja says: Śrī Rāma’s abode is Śrī Avadha-dhāma. This is the abode beyond the beyond. There is no other abode equal to it. It shines eternally in the midst of the earth, undivided and of one essence. Only the supreme devotees who remain absorbed in their worshipful Lord, Śrī Sītā-Rāma, obtain the abode as the very embodiment of perfect bliss. That is to say, Sāketa is the eternal abode, while Śrī Avadha-dhāma upon the earthly sphere is the occasional manifested abode. Devotees perceive no distinction between these two abodes; direct realization becomes manifest to them. They enjoy the bliss of the eternal abode within the manifested abode itself and retain no conception of any other abode. Every sense of materiality leaves their hearts entirely. This is the meaning. He now calls those people blessed: they are worthy of praise who meditate upon Śrī Avadha through devotional contemplation, dwell in Śrī Avadha, and each day drink the water of the holy Sarayū. They live in Śrī Ayodhyā while holding the conviction that this itself is perpetual residence in Sāketa. They admit no distinction here, but regard the two as one essential reality. They repose supreme trust in Śrī Avadhapurī. In whatever manner a person’s inward disposition abides, in that same manner does bliss become manifest for that person.
