[मूल — चौपाई और दोहा] दद्दा दिन दिन प्रीत बढ़ावो। सिय पिय गुण गण चित्त चढ़ावो॥ लीला ललित तहाँ मन राँचो। गहो आपनो रूप सु साँचो॥ दद्दा दारुण दुखद यह, हरि माया इक सिंधु। राम चरण वोहित तहाँ, सन्त मंडली बन्धु॥ [सुजन-प्रबोधिनी सरल टीका] दकार व्यंजन द्वारा श्री ग्रन्थ कर्त्ता जी महाराज कहते हैं कि दिन दिन प्रीति नित नई बढ़ती ही जाना चाहिये। अर्थात कभी कम न होने पाये। श्री सिया पिया श्री सीताराम जी के गुण गणों को चित्त में चढ़ालो। जिससे दूसरी बातें चित्त में न आवें। और श्री युगुल प्रभुन की परम सुन्दर लीला के विषय में अपने मन को तत्पर रखो। (श्री प्रभु की लीलाओं में ही सदैव मन को लगाये रहो।) यही अपना सुन्दर सच्चा रूप है (जीव किंकर्तव्य निपुणः) जीव का किंकर्तव्य ही करना स्वाभाविक धर्म है उसी को ग्रहण करो इत्यादि। यह भगवान की माया एक समुद्रवत है। (मम माया दुरत्यया) यह माया अत्यन्त दुख की देने वाली है। इसमें केवल श्री रघुनाथ जी के चरण कमल ही जहाज रूपा हैं, कि जिसको ग्रहण कर जीव पार हो सकता है और साधु संत मंडली जो है वही सच्चे साथी और भाई बन्धु हैं। अर्थात अन्य और कोई उपाय और सहायक नहीं है ये भाव हैं। जो माया से छूटन चाहें। तो हरि जन पद रति निर्वाहें॥ और उपाय न दूसर कोई। पूर्वाचार्य कहत सब कोई॥
[Root — Chaupai and Doha] Daddā: Let love increase day by day; raise the countless virtues of Sītā’s Beloved within the heart. Immerse the mind in their graceful līlā; take hold of your own beautiful, true nature. Daddā: Hari’s māyā is an ocean, fierce and sorrow-giving. Rāma’s feet are the boat there, and the assembly of saints your kin. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant da, the revered author says: Day by day, love should continue to increase in ever-newness; never let it diminish. Install within the heart the innumerable virtues of Śrī Sītā-Rāma, Sītā’s Beloved, so that no other matters enter it. Keep the mind intent upon the supremely beautiful līlā of the Divine Couple; remain always absorbed in the Lord’s līlās. This is your own beautiful and true nature. A living being’s natural dharma is to carry out what ought to be done; embrace that alone. And so forth. Bhagavān’s māyā is like an ocean: ‘My māyā is difficult to cross.’ It gives extreme sorrow. Within it, only the lotus feet of Śrī Raghunātha take the form of a ship by grasping which the being can cross. The company of sādhus and saints alone are true companions, brothers, and kin. There is no other means or helper; this is the meaning. Those who wish to become free from māyā should sustain love for the feet of Hari’s devotees. There is no other means— so declare all the earlier ācāryas.
