[मूल — चौपाई और दोहा] टट्टा टेक एक मन राखो। सीताराम नाम सुख चाखो॥ काहू सो नहिं हाथ पसारो। जाँचक लखो सकल संसारा॥ टट्टा अरो न टेकते, एक बात उर राखि। साहिब सीताराम हैं, तहाँ दीनता भाखि॥ [सुजन-प्रबोधिनी सरल टीका] ग्रन्थकार जी टकार व्यंजन द्वारा संकेत करते हुये कहते हैं कि मन को चल-विचल न होने दो। एक टेक पर दृढ़ रखो, यानी जो आचार्य द्वारा प्राप्त हुआ हो, उसी में निश्चय रूपण दृढ़ रहो। अपने उपासना भाव की टेक को न छोड़ो। श्री सीताराम नाम को सदैव मुख में रखो। यानी श्री सीताराम नाम का स्मरण छिन मात्र भी न छोड़ो। सदैव श्री युगल नाम के रटन में लगे रहो। इतना करते हुये किसी से किसी बात की जाँचना न करो। यानी हाथ पसार के किसी से कुछ न माँगो, कुछ लेने के लिये किसी के सामने हाथ न पसारो। क्योंकि किसके सामने हाथ पसारा जाय? सारा संसार तो याँचक है। याँचना के वश हो किसी संसारी प्राणी से क्या याँचना करें। क्योंकि संसार के कोई भी ऐसे जीव नहीं हैं जो अपनी व्याधाओं के कारण दुखी न हों। अर्थात् सब को कुछ न कुछ दुख अवश्य है। इस लिये संसार के प्राणी जनों के सामने याँचने का काम ही निषेध है। अपने तो श्री सीताराम जी महाराज महान उदार हैं, दाता हैं; बिना सेवा ही सब देने वाले हैं। सामर्थ्यवान हैं। तब फिर उन्हीं से जो चाहो सो क्यों न जाँचो। ये अपना स्वरूप है। अपनी यथार्थ एक टेक पर निर्भर रहो, एक बात ही पर निश्चय विश्वास दृढ़ाये हुये रखो। श्री सीताराम जी महाराज साहिब सर्वोपरि मालिक हैं, उन्हीं के आगे दीनता पूर्वक जो कहना हो कहो, जो माँगना हो माँगो, अपने यथार्थ मनोरथ की पूर्ति करो। माँगने से माँगना, दुखी का दुखी से मिलना है, लेकिन कुछ यथार्थ मतलब हल नहीं होता। इत्यादि। ‘प्रभु के हाँ न और के होवो। बनी बनाई बात न खोवो॥’
[Root — Chaupai and Doha] Ṭaṭṭā: Keep the mind fixed upon one support; taste the joy of the name Sītā-Rāma. Stretch out your hand to no one; recognize the entire world as petitioners. Ṭaṭṭā: Lean upon no other; keep this one truth in your heart: Sītā-Rāma are the Lord—speak your humility there. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant ṭa, the author indicates: do not let the mind become restless and unsteady. Hold it firmly to one support—that is, remain firmly resolved in what has been received from the ācārya. Do not abandon the support of your devotional disposition. Keep the name Śrī Sītā-Rāma always upon your lips; do not leave its remembrance even for an instant. Remain constantly engaged in repeating the Divine Couple’s name. While doing so, petition no one for anything: do not stretch out your hand and ask anyone for something; do not hold out your hand before anyone in order to receive. Before whom could you stretch it? The entire world is itself a petitioner. Subject to need, what could one request from any worldly being? There is no creature in the world that does not suffer on account of its own afflictions; everyone necessarily bears some sorrow. Therefore petitioning the people of the world is itself forbidden. Our own Śrī Sītā-Rāma Jī Mahārāja are greatly generous and are the Giver; they give everything even without service. They are all-powerful. Why, then, would you not ask them for whatever you desire? This is our true position. Rely upon your one true support; keep firm conviction and faith in this one truth. Śrī Sītā-Rāma Jī Mahārāja are the supreme Lord and Master. Before them alone, humbly say whatever you must say and ask whatever you must ask; fulfil your true aspiration. Asking from another petitioner is the meeting of one sufferer with another sufferer, and no real purpose is thereby resolved. And so forth. ‘Belong to the Lord, and not to another; do not lose what has already been set right.’
