[मूल — चौपाई] जज्जा जोगी मुनि सन्यासी। तपसी सिद्ध उदार उदासी॥ राम भजे सबका निरबाहा। राम चरण रति सबही चाहा॥ [सुजन-प्रबोधिनी सरल टीका] श्री ग्रन्थकार जी जकार व्यंजन द्वारा आदेश करते हैं कि जोगी, अष्टाँग जोग करने वालों में श्रेष्ठ, और अत्यन्त मनन शील मुनि जनों में श्रेष्ठ मुनि, और संसार का न्यास यानी त्याग करने वालों में श्रेष्ठ सन्यासी, और तप चर्या शील तप में सदैव तत्पर रहने वालों में श्रेष्ठ तपस्वी और सब प्रकार सिद्धियों को प्राप्त करने वाले, सिद्ध जनों में श्रेष्ठ सिद्ध, और सर्व अंगों से उदारता में तत्पर, उदार जनों में श्रेष्ठ उदार, सर्व लौकिक सुख प्राप्त करने वालों से उदास रहने वाले दिव्य कृपा की आशा रखने वाले उदासी, अनों को लेकर इत्यादि पूर्वोक्त सब सिद्ध साधक जनों का, श्री राम जी के भजन से ही निर्वाह होता है और पूर्वोक्त सब सत मार्ग ग्रहण करने वाले सब श्री रघुनाथ जी के चरण कमलों में प्रीति चाहते हैं। और सब करतूतों की मूल सार रस रूपा श्री राम भजन ही को समझते हैं। और प्रभु के भजन करते कराते हैं यह भाव है॥ [उद्धरण — चौपाई] ‘योगी सुर सुतापस ज्ञानी। धर्म निरत पंडित विज्ञानी॥’ ‘बैराग्यवंत बहु यती उदासी। कवि कोविद विरक्त सन्यासी॥’ ‘सब कर मत खगनायक येहा। करिय राम पद पंकज नेहा॥’ (गो० तु० दा०)
[Root — Chaupai] Jajjā: Yogis, sages, sannyāsīs, ascetics, siddhas, the generous, and udāsīs— all are sustained by worshipping Rāma; all desire love for Rāma’s feet. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant ja, the author instructs us about the yogi, eminent among those who practise eight-limbed yoga; the muni, eminent among deeply reflective sages; the sannyāsī, eminent among those who renounce the world; the tapasvī, eminent among those whose ascetic conduct keeps them continually intent upon tapas; the siddha, eminent among accomplished people who attain every kind of siddhi; the generous person, eminent among those intent upon generosity in every respect; and the udāsī, detached from all worldly pleasures and hoping for divine grace. Taking all these and the other accomplished practitioners mentioned above together: they are sustained only by worship of Śrī Rāma Jī. All the aforesaid followers of the true path desire love for the lotus feet of Śrī Raghunātha Jī. They understand the worship of Śrī Rāma—the essential savour—as the root of every deed, and they worship the Lord and lead others to worship him. This is the purport. [Quoted Chaupais] ‘Yogis, gods, excellent ascetics, and knowers; duty-devoted scholars and the learned; those endowed with dispassion, many yatis and udāsīs; poets, wise men, renunciants, and sannyāsīs— the view of them all, O lord of birds, is this: cherish love for the lotus feet of Rāma.’ (Gosvāmī Tulasīdāsa)
