[मूल — दोहा] चच्चा चारों वेद पढ़ि, भयो नहीं हिय ज्ञान। सो न होय सतसंग बिन, यह निश्चय जिय जान॥ [सुजन-प्रबोधिनी सरल टीका] चकार व्यंजन के द्वारा श्री ग्रन्थकर्ता जी महाराज आप सबको जताते हैं कि आप चाहे चारों वेदों के ज्ञाता हो जाओ। परन्तु निज प्रभु के स्वरूप की प्राप्ति परम भक्ति रूपा नहीं प्राप्त होगी। अर्थात् निज पर स्वरूप के तत्व को यथार्थ रूपसे नहीं जान सकोगे। स्व स्वरूप, पर स्वरूप अर्थात् जीवात्मा के स्वरूप की और परमात्मा के स्वरूप की संत सत पुरुषों के सतसंग द्वारा ही, प्राप्ति होती है। दूसरे प्रकार नहीं होती। ये तुम निश्चय करके जानो इसमें कोई सन्देह नहीं है। ‘चार धाम में सो नहिं पाइये। जो सतसंग मध्य सुख लइये॥’
[Root — Doha] Chaccā: Though you read all four Vedas, knowledge did not arise in the heart. Know this with certainty in your heart: it does not arise without holy company. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through the consonant ca, Śrī Granthakartā Jī Mahārāja informs you all: even if you become knowers of all four Vedas, nevertheless you will not attain the form of your own Lord—an attainment that is supreme devotion itself. That is, you will not know in its true reality the principle of one's own form and the Supreme Form. One's own form and the Supreme Form—that is, the form of the individual self and the form of the Supreme Self—are attained only through satsang with saints and true persons. They are not attained in any other way. Know this with certainty; there is no doubt in it. ‘What is not found among the four holy places is the happiness received amid holy company.’
